2016 C63 S QUESTIONS

Also, when in 'Comfort' mode, the car accelerates from a stop in second gear instead of first. Some might consider that hesitation. That can be easily changed via the 'Individual' mode settings.
I noticed throttle hesitation more when I first got the car (not a lot, but I did notice it here and there), and now I don't as much. This could be because I'm institutionally avoiding situations that bring it about. Also, mostly seems to happen in comfort mode. Put it in sport/sport+/race, problem seems to go away.

I didn't notice any hesitation, but I was driving in manual mode.

Bottom line, if you liked the ride on your 2012 C63, you will be quite happy with a new C63.
The transmission hesitation is rare, but does happen in limited circumstances. It is worse in Comfort and Sport modes, and not so bad in Sport+ and Race modes. Basically, if you are braking to a stop, you can catch the transmission as it is down shifting from 2nd to 1st. If you try to accelerate at that moment, there is a delay in accelerating while the trans sorts itself out.
Fortunately, you can set up Individual mode so that you can have the engine / trans in Sport+ mode while the suspension is in comfort or sport mode. This minimizes the hesitation issue and keeps the engine and transmission in their most responsive and fun modes while still allowing a softer ride if desired.
