Thanks cyberoth and Xec, your posts in the other thread helped clarify exactly how to bring this up.

Basically you want the screen to be off, the car to not yet be in Accessory mode. Pressing the Ignition button (without depressing the gas pedal) will bring up this animation before turning on Accessory mode.

You can bring up the animation using these two easy ways mainly (thanks again cyberoth and Xec):
- With the car locked initially, unlock your car, get inside, close the door, lock the car, unlock the car. After few seconds, when the screen is still turned off press the Ignition button (without depressing the gas pedal).
- With the car locked initially, unlock your car, get inside, close the door, wait for roughly a minute for the screen to turn off completely. After the screen is completely off, press the ignition button (without depressing the gas pedal).

Because I really want to go through some complicated routine and wait an extra minute when starting my car... I don't know why MB put this kick *** graphic in, and then made it nearly impossible to ever see under normal conditions.

Well, guess that all depends on the size of the "something" that you want to hide If you want it to fool an experienced thief (or someone) you would probably have to modify/create something custom.

The warning for side detection only sounds if you have your blinker on. Otherwise a red triangle will show in the mirror with no tone. Good reminder to always use your mirrors and blinker to pass.

Inside center console there’s a shelf above usb connection area but a ring may pop out during driving. Look under the mat in the trunk where the tire goop is for some space. Also check out the rear armrest if you have a sedan.

I figured this would be the appropriate thread to ask this question.

Does anyone know how, or if you can turn the media/navi screen off at night without stopping music, etc. I know you can press down on the scroll that adjust the volume to turn the unit off but that shuts off your music as well.

Anyone know?

The kick method worked for me yesterday. Maybe I just need to work on my kicking technique.

I haven't tried this yet but apparently, you can activate the "Brake Hold" function without pressing the electric brake hold switch on the dash. With the vehicle brought to a complete stop using the brakes just give the brake pedal an additional push and that will engage the brake hold function. You can then take your foot off the brake pedal and the car will hold it's position even though the transmission is in drive (regardless of being on incline/decline). When you are ready to go just press the gas pedal and the brake will automatically release.

How to use Brake Hold

Press Vehicle Menu (car symbol) button, pull down on scroll wheel, it should bring up sub menus at the bottom of the screen. Choose, Display Off.

You could also add "Screen Turn Off" as a Favorite (at least in the facelift models). This was part of the default favorites list and is quite useful and easy to access. I add other things to favorites such as "Engine Data", "Parking Camera", etc.

I'm not finding a tow eye in my trunk either, but that could be because it's a cabriolet (2020 C63 S). Though I haven't checked too thoroughly.

The hands-free "kick" trunk release doesn't work for me either. I tried 10 times the other day, and 10 times again this evening. I even watched a couple videos to make sure I was doing it right. lol I wonder if I'm missing a special technique, or it's because I have a cabriolet?

Fantastic thread, though. Hopefully there are more tricks still to be contributed!

I'm not sure if this is your issue but if you lock the car by pressing the lock button more then once, it will kill that function as well as the ability to open the door without actually pressing unlock on the fob.

So far, I've only been locking it by touching the outside handle, but that's very good to know about double-locking.
I've just checked the list of standard features my car has, and nothing about the trunk is mentioned, so I wonder if I don't have it for some reason.

I made a wonderful discovery today about my 2020 C63s...it can play FLAC files! (FLAC files are basically high-definition "lossless" audio files, for those unfamiliar.) That was a shock to me, because even iTunes can't handle FLAC files. In reading threads about HD music streaming services, I thought I might as well check the manual about supported files, and sure enough, FLAC is listed. I was still a bit dubious, but I threw a bunch of my FLACs on an SD card, and they worked, sounded great, and I was able to skip through tracks instantly!

It was able to randomly mix the assortment of files I'd put on there, but I'd love to hear any tips you guys might have vis-a-vis organizing collections or perhaps using playlists. I plan to buy a 256-512GB SD Card, but I imagine that could get unwieldy (I have a very large collection), so I'm curious what others are doing to play media files by genre, etc. But for now, I won't look a gift horse in the mouth, I'm just glad it works!
