Whats everyones thoughts on this?

My wife just bought a new W205 C250 AMG line for her work car, I was just going to fit the original AMGCross Spoke wheels and tyres to it once I've sourced new wheels for the C63S if there's no off set issues.

I'll look into fitting the 265's to the front but feel free to chime in everyone with your comments.
I think 275's on the 19x9's were even pushing the MAX size. If you have the staggered setup, there's no way to do this. So it depends on your OEM sizing in front, but if you have 19x9's, it's not feasible and the tire would be stretched to a point where I wouldn't trust it... IMHO. This is based on the experts I've heard here and local shops. The staggered set up comes with 295s rear. So it was out of the question, for me anyway. 265's were the max I would run on a 19x9.

The 295/30/19 side walls measure approximately 55mm.

Side on you you can't even notice.

Have you tried them on track or on high speed(240+kmh)?

I'm looking to do the same with my c63s but use Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2.

It doesn't matter if anyone has tried them or not as they are too big for the stock sedan wheels.
they may fit (not rub) but the rim is too narrow and will pull the bead in and the tread will not be flat with the correct pressure.
go to tire rack and do some research.

Hows your 295 with the stock wheels.. I was thinking of moving the stock rear wheel with 265/35/19s to the front and get 2pcs 20s ( coupe 63s) for the rears.. are they cross spoke design too..

No I'm just saying if the offset is correct the 9 1/2 inch rim will be ok on a 265 where the front 8 1/2 is too narrow for a 265.

I know you are trying to save the cost of new rims but it is usually better to buy the correct width and offset for the tire size you want to run and not try to do with the wrong one just because you have them.

then 285s for the rear are fine? or are they too wide as well?

285 are ok but marginal on stock wheels and better with a wider wheel.

RD, have you (or anyone else) done any high speed (120+mph) or any track or performance driving in the bigger 285/295 tires? And how have they held up?

Has anyone been able to find PSS's in 285/30/19? A few of you mentioned having this tire in a 35 profile and wanting to go down to a 30 but I have looked on Michelin's site, TireRack and through my dealership and it appears there is no such tire.

i was told for my sedan i can only fit a 10" rim with a 275 on it. for no rubbing issues. im getting wheels custom made so i can choose size offset etc. and i want it aggressive. not just flush but rims coming out a bit with a minor stretch on rim so it tucks under fender. Golan from autotalent has helped me a bunch- he advised this-

20x9 +41 i believe 255 tire
20x10 +55 and 275 tire

-- id love to get a 295 on rear with a wider rim too. but what should offsets be to make it all work then? i may switch to 19" rims too

Bringing this post back to life!

Anyone done 295/35 (not 30, I know some have those) on their stock rears?

Just a follow up: If any of you have to change your tires and dont go bigger then you are making a huge mistake.

I have no idea why the car didnt come from Germany this way..maybe due to costs or EPA Mileage figures, who knows, but the larger tires make a noticeable and significant difference in performance and traction.

If you own a C63S then you know it is a dance between how hard to touch the pedal and getting the tires or back end to spin out. With the larger tires (I have 285's) this is not nearly as easy to do and you have to intentionally mash the pedal to get it to spin out.

I wish I changed them the day I bought the car..

I think I am going to try 255/35 and 295/35. Yes it's a stretch with the size of the stock rear width but if 305/30 and 285/30 are fitting in stock then a 295/35 should fit (checking the offset equality and size) we will see!

It will look way too chunky.

With the roads out here (Northern CA) I'll take the chunky over the damaged rim.

Sedan

comparing sizes that other have confirmed on their MB Wheels (295/30 285/30 and even 305 on customs) the size of 295/35 should be fine. Only one way to find out I guess.

Also looking at doing it right and getting 19x10 wheels later after the wife approves, this way the rubber can be transferred.
