C63 S Coupe - Edition 1 Thread
Didn't really expect this to happen and didn't believe people here about how seeing the beauty in person changes everything!
Originally had the C43 sedan on order because I wanted a fun car that's not a 4-cylinder. I noticed the dealership had a C63 S Edition 1 in stock and I wanted to see it in person, plus I could check on the status of the C43. It wasn't sold yet!
Long story short how could one resist this masterpiece of engineering after seeing it and hearing that V8 roar. It immediately stole my heart and I knew there was no going back. I am sure the C43 would have been a great car, ignoring what people think if its an AMG or not. I honestly welcome it, and because of it I got this after all.
Anyway enough rambling! Here was yesterday, before I knew I would get it!
And after I finally got it! (Easter egg, behind it was a Ford GT )

I already do!
I still have that dilemma to deal with actually, not sure what I'll do about the front plate, will probably have to drill holes eventually

Thanks! I am enjoying it even within the break in period. I kinda dislike attention to myself and those yellow decals scream lol, I am noticing a lot heads looking my way

I know I've already stated it, but she is drop dead gorgeous. I'm glad I had a hand in convincing you to get it hahahah.. Are you required to have a front plate where you live?
That's what tint is for I know the feeling of getting stared at all too well, experienced it a lot when the w218 CLS came out lol.

And I'm planning to get tints soon-ish, leaning on 20% I think. Debating on getting Xpel stealth cause I've already stretched my budget quite a bit getting this. Maybe a partial cover might do for now (hood and fenders).

Unfortunately yes front plates are required. I know there are the tool-less mounts using the tow cover but they look bad, may have to relent and drill holes .

Yeah, I would just get a partial done and maybe get a coating for the rest (if it fits the budget)?

Not sure a ceramic coating can be applied to matte paint, but visiting the detail shop tomorrow to find out. I was planning on doing it partially now, and the rest later.

Matte paints are absolutely beautiful and easy to care for
Saw one of these up close at the ADA earlier this year, pictures don't do it justice.
You may want to look at Dr Beasley's matte care products, there are others too, but I've been very happy with them - and always wash by hand.

My Designo Alanite matte paint on my CLS63 was the easiest paint in the world to care for. No wax or clearcoat scratches, super durable. Only issue is if they ever re-spray the front bumper for rock chips, etc. they will have trouble getting it to match. However, if you do Xpel, you shouldn't have to worry about that!

Looks fantastic! The side skirts look way more aggressive than a non-edition 1.
I'm avoiding going to the dealer and seeing it in person fearing that I'm going to trade in the sedan.

May be a wise choice. I went in not knowing I'd get it honestly, glad I went in though nevertheless!

I'm planning to do the front for now definitely and the rest later. What's interesting is gonna need to apply new stripes since the originals will be removed so seams don't show up.

Congrats on the new baby, your story is pretty much similar to how I ended up with the same car! I was in the dealership for something else before I knew it I was talking numbers and telling them I want to take it home that evening.
Didn't really expect this to happen and didn't believe people here about how seeing the beauty in person changes everything!

Anyway enough rambling! Here was yesterday, before I knew I would get it!
And after I finally got it! (Easter egg, behind it was a Ford GT )

I left the original stripes on and had the installer place gloss film over the stripes and matte everywhere else. There is only one place where you can see the transition, and you really have to look closely to see it.

The installer mentioned he could do that. After doing more research I have seen that protection films on matte finishes upon removal will potentially ruin it. Decisions decisions lol
