Who has the Rebellion Tune?

Anyone that has the Rebellion tune are you guys having any issues with it? What are some benefits besides the obvious like easy install/uninstall. I am getting downpipes installed so should I get a flash or piggyback. If a few people could leave a review of what they have would be awesome. Maybe a link to some threads?

I have it.

It's not an easy install per se.. but IS significantly easier than the ECU tune route, and anyone with some ability to follow instructions should be able to install. Small hands help.

I do have an issue, in that if I've been driving around on a hot day, esp in slower traffic.. then park for a short while, allowing just enough time for the turbo heat to soak through the engine bay (and into the piggy) the car will not start correctly, have very rough idle, and just die. As soon as I unplug the piggyback (and put in the jumper), it starts right up fine.

I've sent it back once for them to look at it, and they sent it back with a new flash.. which didn't help. Car runs great with the tune otherwise. However, I'm starting to look at a 'stage 2/3' ECU+turbo upgrade route.

Ok but have you thought about heat shielding it with anything. Just a thought because a friend had a jb4 tune for his BMW and similar issue. Luckily he found a heat shield box thing

I've been running a rebellion piggyback on and off since January. In all honesty I don't think it's a very good tune. Loads of torque but the top end falls off a cliff. It's fun for getting the car sideways easier but it killed my lap times. It is obviously a lot less invasive than an ecu tune though. I'll also be going with down pipes and turbos in the new year, with an ecu tune.

If you are spending money on downpipes don't even think twice about not getting a proper ECU tune. The rebellion module does not seem to work on the later model cars (2015 was ok). But many people have had issues. As was said above it gives you a monster spike of Hp and TQ down low then basically drops off a cliff. I have posted some of my issues in other threads.

With th the downpipes you can ge the ECU flashed with a stage 2 file and get more HP so that is the the obvious route to go. The module isn't as easy to remove as on other cars so you are not going to want to take it on and off before trips to the dealer or anything like that

Enough said... I've made a decision. I haven't been hearing many good things about the tune and thanks to everyone who helped out.

Just saw DIME released their own stage 2/3 package with upgraded turbos, down/mid pipes, cooling and ECU. If it's remotely the same pricing as Eurocharged's, 2017's going to be an awesome year for the M177/M178!
