My C63S is SLOW. I wanna TUNE it.
Man, I only won a 370Z by a slim margin the other day and I thought this shouldn't be happening. I should have won at least bus lengths.
Guys please share your opinion on what is the most effective and economical tune. My wife wouldn't allow me to spend too much because we are planning to have a baby.
Thanks

Polar White C43 Sedan
Your car stock vs. stock is roughly 1 second faster or more in the 1/4 than a 370z which is light years in the 1/4.
It's highly unlikely you need a tune unless his is majorly modded.

Slow c63s.... 'wish i had that problem less the baby, that problem i'm done with and i don't want any more... hahaha!
A tune will definitely take care of your "slow" c63s. Are you done with the break-in? If you are, and you're hesitant to ship your ecu you'd really be better off getting it done locally. ECU (engine control unit), thats what takes care of the things your engine does. From fuel mixture to ignition and limiters etc. the tuner modifies those parameters so you get more out of your engine's potential.

How the hell you beat z by little margin. I know those suckers are quick but no way they are that quick. He must be tuned or even turboed . Were you in sport+ or race mode, makes a big difference.

I was in Sport mode and I thought it's quick enough. You mean Sport vs Race mode have a big difference? The Z had only one driver and My wife was sitting in the car together with me. I told my wife to lose some weight that day after the challenge.

Based on the threads you started and are all over the page...
Either A. You're a troll. But to be fair, I frequent a subforum that is a bit more hostile than this one so...
Option B. I'd bet if you tuned it, and were racing from a dig (light to light), you'd win by less or lose. It just seems you have limited experience asking things like "What is an ECU tune" or "How do I say no when people ask to drive my car?" So when it comes to putting power to the road I bet there is room for improvement. I'm also willing to bet that if you spent the money on a real driving school you'd win by greater lengths without changing a thing on the car.
Either way, just drive your car and leave it alone. In this thread you're saying your wife is forcing you to be money conscious because you're planning to have a baby. All while asking about $2k tunes and how to make your car as loud as a CBS which has a completely different motor and two less turbo's in the way of making noise.
"10 yards" can also be a big distance depending on light to light or whatever. Why don't you go to a 1/4 mile track, race a 370z, and see what happens?
My advice, leave the car alone, learn to drive it, and clean up in the sense your wife is asking you to be responsible while planning for a human and your response is my $90k car isn't fast enough so I need to put in another $5k+.
Or you're a troll in which case, well played sir. Well played.
*Disclaimer* Not exercising my massive e-******* here... I'm just saying that some people that are the regulars in these parts should raise an eyebrow.

I though the nissan 370z is in the low 5 second to 60. Have to be modded for sure, there's just no way. You can only get the 3.8 sec in race mode with launch control, so I guess there's a big difference in sport mode compare to sport + and race

You know, as you get older, there are certain questions that you become too afraid to ask at that point. I'm in that kind of situation. I'm not being a troll by asking stupid questions but I genuinely do not know the answers to them.
I feel very relaxed asking questions in this forum and there have been a lot of very helpful people here which I'm grateful of.

Yes I'm sure the Nissan GT-R's 2.8sec needs every condition perfect in order to pull that off. Same goes to the C63S. I have a rough estimate that my car's 0-60 time is around 5-6 seconds in comfort mode, which is pretty fast on the street.

Lol @ told my wife to lose some weight.
For the record, street racing is pretty dangerous the second you are in the law breaking territory. I don't condone it. That being said...
There are so many factors that play in to a good old fashioned street sprint. Even two similarly weighted stock cars that have a 150 hp and 150 lb/ft torque difference can seem just as fast depending on.
1) Where in your powerband you both were when you started racing - applicable to a rolling race.
2) If it was a stationary start, did either of you launch? Did either of you have a rolling start?
3) Added weight in vehicle :P
4) Which side of the road you were on...seriously, if you were in the slow lane, it's typically riddled with potholes and generally poor road quality since water and salt runoff settles here. This can lead to a lack of grip and really bad conditions for tires overall.
