Rear Side Flics Don't fit????

Folks,
Help me out.
Bought these and they don't fit during test fit.
Big gap in test fit between it and the bumper.
Part number on box doesn't match internal part, as in picture.
Is this the right part???

I think you gotta pull the factory plastic out for it to sit flush

How?
What tool fits, or what trim tool is required?
I can't see how that could make a difference though, as the gap is over 1/2 inch and those pieces aren't that deep....
But I'll try anything. Thanks!

Do you have sedan or coupe? I tried buying some for my sedan and was told they were couple only and wouldn't fit my sedan. I'm not saying this is your case, just pointing out there other things you might want to verify first.

Such helpful answers.

Can tou post pictures of your test fit and the gap it's creating?

Also since its an OEM part, if your dealer is friendly maybe they could briefly show you how to fit them?

Thanks all, except one - and you know who you are... LOL!
I have a coupe.
Picture of the gap, attached.

I don't see how removal of the OEM grate, shown in the picture, would change fitment based on the way the flics fit, but I could be wrong.
Also, can someone comment on the OEM part # on the box NOT matching the part #'s listed on the parts themselves?
Is that normal?????

Picture isn't very clear, but you can see the gap, at least.
If you look towards the middle, you can see the OEM "grate".

It might be the other way around.

Just glancing at the MB Accessory website, the flics are listed for the sedan and not listed for the coupe.

Coupe --> https://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/acces...-C/model-C63CS

Sedan --> https://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/acces...-C/model-C63WS

Listed under "Exterior". You have to click the "5 More" link to see them.

The accessory guide for the Coupe shows these as available....
In my case, the box part number matches what Mercedes shows, but the parts themselves do NOT...
I'm not sure if that's normal, hence my fitment issue....

Just a thought, it could be available for the C300 Sport Coupe and C43 Coupe but not the C63S Coupe. Your car has a different rear bumper (and entire rear end for that matter), so a part that would fit those cars wouldn't fit yours.

Agreed, but the bumper shown in the PIC is the same.
I do know that other's with the C63S Coupe have fitted these, without issue.
In fact, I believe the Edition 1 comes standard with these....

Not to get nit-picky, but the picture (04) in the MB catalogue link your sent was of the rear end of a sedan (no red lights/reflectors in the crease above the exhaust tips).

Agreed, that is the only part # listed.
I don't, in fact, know if the sedan and coupe FLICS are the same.
There are flics for multiple vehicles available from Mercedes.
I am wondering if the flics I received are for another Mercedes vehicle (an "A" class)?

Hmm. From your pic, I would think that gap is ok...I thought your gap was the flush fit on the front side of the flics. I think there is supposed to be that gap in the rear?

or, is it an issue because the backing plate won't fit flush in order to drill and screw it in?

I have china carbon flics for my sedan in the mail. I'm sure that will be a party, fitting them. They are no-drill tho...3M only, which isn't much risk to take.

I could be completely wrong, but I have a feeling the C63S Coupe flicks are unique and different than those used on the other C-class models.

Just looking at the shape/size of the vent they cover up, the C63S Coupe just looks different.

Also, the sticker on the actual flicks says "A/C205".

A205 is the C-class Cabriolet.

C205 is the C-class Coupe.

Yes, saw that.
And you might be right that it's then correct...

Exactly - backing plate doesn't want to sit flush for drilling... there's a 1/2 inch gap between the backing plate and the bumper. I don't even see how the enclosed screws would be long enough to hit the provided grommets you insert into the drilled holes!!!!

It's very odd.
I tried both sides of the vehicle and they both fit EXACTLY the same way.
Everything else is fairly close, but NOT the backing plate....

I should also mention that they seem to "snap" into place in the bumper cavity, but alas, the gap gives me heartburn.

I'm not drilling my bumper as an experiment.
I'm bringing it to the dealer, hopefully tomorrow, to let them look at it.

It doesn't look 100% identical, the "sharp end" at the top looks longer than mine. If I had to bet I would say it is the wrong part.

Found another angle from my pics folder:
