Power and flexibility.
Our cars run 9psi stock, with the ecu tune went up to 12.5 and running JB4 on map 5 now 20psi. After the ecu tune the car (engine) still had so much more to give.
Turbo cars love E85 fuel, here in Australia its 107 octane. Have run it in other tuned turbo cars and the power/torque increase is about 30% and also runs the engine cooler.
Now Running 40% E85 with 98 octane on map 5 and with the JB4 can map/log and adjust the fuel pressure to suit. The ecu will increase timing too when seeing high octane fuel.
Did not want to go larger turbos due to lag and wanted to get the most out of the factory Borg Warner turbos.
Have got a meth kit yet to be installed due to traction issues. Running 295/30/19 R888R's on a 11" rim now and hooks up well when they are warm but will still spin them even in 3rd when planting it. The engine in these cars make so much torque.
K-Mac rear bush kit and camber kits going in next week along with different springs to help with traction and my last option would be run a 18" rear setup with either the same rubber or MT Streets.
The JB4 is a great bit of kit and is featured packed. Best upgrade yet to the car with second being the intake followed by pipes.

That looks fantastic - between the development above and BMS options, I’m really keen on getting rid of the factory intake to keep power from dropping off above 5500 rpm.
I really like this design with the fatter intake pipes as opposed to the straight bent pipe BMS is using.
Any idea when this prototype will be available and will pricing be comparable to
BMS?

I'm trying to have something ready to sell in February. I'll update the forum with pricing as soon as i'm confident in a number, but i'm currently targeting prices marginally more than BMS (since it will be carbon fiber with heat shields).

I've just started looking into intake options and really like the design of these - seriously great work! It's hard to tell from the photos, but will the stock intake duct work have access into the heat shields to provide further cool air?
I know there is interest in this community for non carbon fiber bits as it seems like that's all that's available for our cars, so it was refreshing to see BMS go a different route. Any thought into having two options when it comes to material?

Aluminum tubing is a great way to make an intake system with no tooling required, but that is not possible with my design. Sand cast aluminum could be an attractive option, but aluminum is really good at transferring heat which is not what we want in our intake system. Carbon fiber provides excellent thermal resistance so the airflow passing through the intake isn't heated up as much as aluminum.
If I can find a way to produce it with a good nylon material that doesn't require insane tooling costs i'll explore it, but for now I've been targeting carbon fiber.

I like his design as it incorporates a heat shield while still utilizing the stock "ram" intake tube to reach the filters

what for times do you have with jb4 and E30? 100-200km/h (60-130mph) ?
i saw c63 runs with e85, bms intake and jb4 8,2 60-130.thats not rly "fast" for intake and e85 with a tune. here in switzerland/Germany we run same time with only tune, and with stage 2 (normal fuel) low/mid 7sec 60-130.

so tell me, what you mean with "our cars run 9psi stock"... because my car dont run 0,6bar stock 1,3peak and 1,2hold.
you can ask Mercedes benz for the boost lvl or a serious tuner with a log for the boost lvl, but 9psi is 100% wrong.

you rly think, our amg c63s running 0,6bar stock? dude, is a turbo not charger...and very small turbos, they Need boost.

My car has ECU tune, adds 3 psi of boost over stock. Log shows 12 psi giving 9psi as factory but you would probably not understand this.
How do you Know / Think your car runs your claimed boost levels ?

yes, i see the boostline and i understand the jb4 log. i used self jb4 on my n54 335, 8 years ago. you are right, here is the boost very low…
my tuner told me this, and you can read it on Wikipedia (M177) engine and i could you send some pics from car magazines/tests.
and technically, it makes no sense (0,6bar)

i think, this jb4 log shows only for one turbo the boost, i dont know why but this would make sense for the final result..

JB4 reads both turbos and averages.
If each turbo makes 9psi that does NOT mean 18psi total.
Each turbo feeds 4 cylinders , 2 turbos on the car = V8. Each turbo makes 9psi feeding either side of the V8 so a flat 9psi, end of story.

Maybe this log shows 9psi or 12psi. and is enough for terry/community to reading this logs, but you said "our cars runing 9psi boost" and that is wrong. end of story.
