These are not like the BMW's you have posted. Whole front end would have to be disassembled for something like that. Plus, we tested front mount intakes on our F90 M5. Lost power because of the extra tubing, heat, and turbulence/vacuum created from the long tubes.
Not ideal in a performance aspect, but if you like aesthetics I guess that's a cool thing to do?

These look like ZAC. Also, ZAC has incorporated heat shields as well now

Price is still TBD. I think the price we came up with was $549 or $599.

Looks interesting, did you just go with the biggest possible filter for the area?

Yes, basically. We had to design this filter from the ground up. It also accommodates the sensor on the OEM intake with the same style insert.
The heat shields also have a placement for the air ducts to connect to. This will allow for more airflow to the intake system.

I just got in touch with them because I was ready to purchase and he said that heat shields were not included and would be available "for purchase" down the road. Gorgeous setup, but just cant justify that price point plus extra money for heat shields later.

What are you comparing your pricing to?

Most other Carbon intakes are 2-3 times dearer.

I'm comparing it to the relative thickness of my wallet. $1200 would be at the extreme end of my budget for an intake, especially considering the relative performance benefit. Carbon fiber looks cool and all, but it doesn't really make it any more efficient of an intake. For a couple hundred dollars more, I could get a tune that adds much more horsepower and torque than an intake. Plus, BMS said they're gonna drop one for about $600, which is closer to my budget. Not knocking the ZAC ones, they look amazing.

Really why cant someone just make larger than factory cold air intake similar to the factory that's not carbon fiber. Basically the dime racing intake made out of plastic. But Good Job BMS ill probably end up picking one up because this is the best option I can find right now. When can I order??

That what I'm saying. It doesn't seem like this should be that difficult to do. If multiple companies have come out with options in full carbon fiber, why hasn't anyone come out with a reasonably priced option? This model has been out for about 5 years now. I guess everyone is just appealing to the demographic where their daily is the C63 and their weekend cars are Huracans!

Couple more weeks, the wait will be worth it... I promise!

The ease of install, fit and finish along with the gains and intoxicating noises... ahh man. This intake system is going to make you guys fall in love.
I know I fell in love with the car all over again after the intake was installed.

I’m not real keen on the 2.5” tubular pipe intake look.

Important Excerpts from an e-mail I received from them:
"Initial tests on a stage 2 C63S showed around 25hp gains. The system has a lot of parts including completely custom panel filters which we designed for the best flow possible. There is a lot of carbon and CNC machined parts involved so it won't be cheap but we expect it to be between $2.5k to $3k. However we didn't cut any corners on this one so you will see where the cost has gone. It is a completely sealed system - no open cone nonsense!"

That price though

I'd probably get these over the Weistec ($3k) though... but at BMS's price point, hard to beat, even though I much prefer a sealed system.

That's unfortunate (at least for me). They make absolutely gorgeous systems, but again, not trying to drop that much on an intake. Maybe someday! I'm not very knowledgeable on the mechanics behind closed system intakes, but does that not hinder performance? I get that it would only be getting cold air from the outside, but as far as volume is concerned is it more beneficial to take in way less air as long as its cold? Or maybe the box still affords enough air based on the rate at which it is being consumed?

BMS has shown in the past on their BMW platforms that their open-cone intake systems don't get heat-soaked. That said, I've always been a big fan of heat management in the engine bay (no pun intended)... For example I've ceramic coated my cattless DP's despite many telling me that it's not necessary as well. Right now, I'm only looking at closed-airbox systems as I strongly prefer a cold-air intake vs open design... perhaps, if I'm convinced by the testing and experience of many other users of BMS's intake, I'll end up going for that eventually, but I still prefer a closed airbox design as a matter of principle. A well designed closed system certainly won't hinder performance, but is a lot more expensive and difficult to design as opposed to just sticking filters in the engine bay and connecting them to the turbos with a tube, which is, unfortunately, why they are costing so much.

I get that but what concerns me is special to these cars and the HOT V Design. It gets Crazy Hot in there and those open intakes are so close
