C63S Replacement Rotors

Most new MB rear brakes have eliminated the traditional drum brake including GTS/R, C63S, S. etc. (except CLS, C63) so the rear now must use single piston "floating" caliper in order to incorporate the e-parking brake which can no longer be used as emergency braking like traditional foot/hand brake.
You can't change the rear calipers to "fixed" type 4 pot, however you can add a 4 pot caliper kit for normal stopping, while retaining the OE floating caliper as auxiliary brake for parking only. This can be accomplished but not sure how may people would be interested in doing this for the extra cost and installation.

After seeing the dealerships price quote for upcoming pad/rotar replacement, think I'll go with RB's front & rear combo pack.
For those that bought it, how hard/straight forward is it to learn to do it yourself when experience is limited to taking a tire on and off.

Its not hard, but I would not attempt to do a rotor/pad swap if youve only taken a tire off a car. Ask a friend who is mechanically inclined to help you out or buy the parts and take it to any brake shop to do the swap. You could also look for mobile mechanics in your area that will come to you.

Are those rotors for the front only or both front and rear?

What was the quote? Just want to hear how ridiculous they are lol.

Wow that’s insane! You can buy a pair of the best/lightest 2-piece rear rotors on the market from Racing Brake with pads for $1300.
Before you take it to a shop, post up on here and see if anyone with know how in your area is willing to help out with the job for some cash or food and beer. Most guys on car forums are helpful and willing to lend a hand.

"Save money and weight by purchasing this complete package that includes:
- 2 ea. front two-piece rotors
- 2 ea. rear two-piece rotors
- 1 set XT910 Street pads (front axle only)."
I been watching how to tutorials to learn how to do the change myself since I'm planning to keep the AMG for a long time, but need an experienced hand to walk me through the first time.
Anyone here near the Tampa, FL area? Cash, food, beer all on the table 😁

I believe those just hit the market and it's 360mm so it's for the Silver AMG Brakes and not the Red. So I messaged him about it and his response was
"We will release the front 390m rotor set about 45 days later, as we are making the new mold now and launch in our production line. So, please wait a moment, and I hope you can wait for them, Once the 390mm rotor kits are ready, I will inform you. Thank you for asking!! Please stay in touch!
So, do you prefer the slotted type or the drilled type for the front 390mm rotor set? By the way, we are available of the rear 360mm rotor set, which you can look into as well."

They sold 1 set for $806.70 ... looks like a bit of a jump in the pricing

For a few bucks more you can get authentic racing brake 2-piece rotors made in the USA so at that price point it’s not a good buy. Someone posted 2-piece brembos that fit our car but are off another Benz model which were around $800 for the set.

At least I'd feel better with something from Brembo on my car (even if it was also from China).

I agree for sure, but not all things out of China are bad, however plats looks to be a new company as they only have 2 reviews. Quality control would be much more strict if brembo has their name on it, even coming out of China and the front set is only around $680 so that’s a no brainer.

Already purchased new rotors for my 2015 C63s which I track regularly. Best rotors are from Racing Brake, 2 piece slotted with holes drilled inside the slots so you do not lose so much pad area vs many holes drilled all the way around the disc. Also good reduction in unsprung weight on all 4 rotors.
