Lightbulb C63S Replacement Rotors

Well, it's time for pads and I'm sure the rotors won't be too far behind.

For those of you who have NOT checked, the MB OEM C63S (Specifically the S Model WITH OUT CCB) Front Floated rotors are around $1000 EACH.

Where the C63 rotors from MB are $193 each.

To my understanding the only difference is Solid vs Floated and they're the same dimensions.

Has anyone looked into aftermarket replacements? If so, what options have you seen?

So far I've found Brembo options at around $700 a set (pair) and I'm considering Non-S solid MB OEM rotors as a more aggressive pad will eat them up anyway.

S-Model front rotors are 15.4 and Non-S models are 14.2. At least that what is says on MBUSA.com.

Since we are shooting the **** this morning, if I had a C63 S model and wanted an inexpensive rotor replacement I'd probably slap black series brakes on it

I am hinting that they will fit perfectly.

I seems that the Calipers Front and Rear are the same for the AMG GT/S/C/R and C63/C63S. Which in this case means that the rotors should be interchangeable even if the GT/C63 come with a 14.2" Rotor where the S models get the 15.4" Floating rotor.

So at least that means that there are reasonably priced alternatives from an OEM perspective, just trying to find a suitable replacement in a similar size for the S model is proving to be a big difficult at the moment.

That's a 360mm rotor - yeah? Aluminum Hat, do you sell the replacement rings? Or only the full replacements?

That is a 390mm rotor. I currently sell full replacements. That rotor is an inexpensive alternative to the factory S rotor.

Gotcha - So replacement rings are not an option for those? Would make the $1000+ pair of rotors a very reasonable option if that were the case.

I do not currently sell the rings. I'm certain there are outfits that do, if I had to guess Tarox probably would but that is all speculation.

Hm, maybe that is a good reason for me to get a C63 and not a C63s.

Is that the only options? $1k each OEM or $500 each?

You can use the C63 Rotors @ $193 each (that's from MB) if you want an even cheaper option, but basically yeah.

I found those Brembo Rotors listed above as a pair for ~$850 - so a bit better than $1000 for the pair.

Personally, I'll likely go that route.

$1K each for Genuine, or $500 each for the two piece Brembo's. However I offer lifetime replacement on brakes so if it were my money and brakes were the deciding factor I would probably get the S.

That is an amazing deal! So much so that I am thinking of buying from you, from all the way in the UK, just to take advantage of that offer.

All due respect; what's the fine print in this warranty? Rotors are a consumable part, this warranty would logically only cover defects. Proving a defect in a rotor can be pretty difficult for this fact.

I respect you standing behind your product but I wouldn't suspect many if any would really ever take advantage of that warranty.

You definitely have my attention.

P.S. If these get sent back, Brembo must hate you guys. lol

Took a walk to the returns area this morning looks like a light returns day, some control arms, some engine oil and other incidentals. Disregard the smug look on Ralph's face.

I found the C63S original rotors on this website for 787.50 $

I'd buy the 390mm Brembo 2-piece rotors, even at the price (still cheaper for the 390mm). Good find though.

I like the Brembo option too! After what my dealer is billing me I am thinking seriously on do the brakes by myself, it does not look like a difficult task.

I could only imagine....

I've always done my own brakes, it's very simple - Remove wheel, remove 2 bolts holding on caliper. You're done, caliper comes off and that's what's holding the Rotor in place on most vehicles.

I used to do all four corners on my Z06 in 45 minutes from start to finish.
