Talking C63s Tires

Hi everyone I’m new guy from United Arab Emirates J.

As thread subject I plan to change my C63s 2016 tires.

I did search for good tires, actually in ME they recommend Michelin tires.

My car tires is Michelin Super Sport and my car mileage almost 24000KM. almost 2 years I’m using the tires.

As per tires specification, only 4 brands have same sizes and I mentioned below;

1) Michelin (Super Sport, Pilot Sport 4S, PILOT® SPORT CUP 2 & PILOT® SPORT A/S 3+)
2) Continental (ExtremeContact Sport & ExtremeContact DWS06)
3) Yokohama (Advan Sport V105)
4) Pirelli (P-Zero)

I did compare between tires total weight and I found continental ExtremeContact Sport is the lightest weight between 4 brands.

My question is, do you recommend Continental or Michelin?

Note: the weight different between ExtremeContact Sport and Super Sport is 6 LB

I have the Continental ExtremeSport on my car right now, and I couldn't be happier. It's my third set of tires with previous tires being stock Dunlops and Michelin PSS.

Anyone that claims they notice a performance difference between the ExtremeSport and the PSS/P4S is either a pro driver or in denial.

So you recommend ExtremeContact Sport, what about noise from wheels while driving? which one is more quietness?

One of the Car mags just did a test including both of the mentioned tires and they were close with The Mich 4S winning. and the Conti second but the Conti was the winner by a small margin in the wet.
And of course the driver was a pro so the test meant something.

I read the same article. My point though was that you'd need to be a pro to exploit the performance differences between the two tires. The difference of 0.01g in the skidpad is a difference of 1 mph at most. 99% of drivers wouldn't notice that difference let alone be able to exploit a 1 mph increase in speed.

I'm sure there is a difference when measuring the actual dB of road noise, but I've yet to notice any difference between the two.

What price are you willing to pay for the slight differences in performance? I think that was the point of the article.

Which tire to go with depends totally on your needs. Do you go to track days? Do you mainly commute?

For me, I have the Continental Extreme Contacts and I picked those because I do not do track days in my current vehicle. The tires seem to wear decently, handle well, and I would buy them again.

Michelin tires for Pilot Super Sport is ($1,225.46 to $1,440.59) with installation plus nitrogen.

For continental ExtremContact Sport is not available in our market, i will buy it from USA and i will export it to UAE. In USA market the tires price is ($1,012.14)

It's there anything about the Michelin Super Sport that you don't like? I can understand you wanting to try out different rubber but you'll have to tell us what you expect to get out of the rubber that you didn't have before...

you have the coupe or sedan? My sedan 2016 sedan came with 245/265 sport maxx rt. I think the stock tire selection is based on region since I know a few others whos c63s came with Dunlop stock.

I bought the Michelin Super Sports and returned them after two days.

They were noisy on the highway and spun easily with my new tune.

Swapped them for the Michelin PS4's with a noticeable decrease in road noise and increased traction.

I tell everyone about these tyres.

After searching in websites I found the reason of tires mixing.

In Dunlop Europe website we will find many tires with same OEM size.

you are right about your tires stock from Dunlop.
