Disappointing that you can only tell it is tuned by a straight line race. With the big tourqe boost they are claiming I would think it would feel quite different from the start.

That's strange, I drove a renntech c63s coupe with an ecu tune and it's noticeably different from a stock c63s. Here's another youtube video of a c63s with weistec ecu tune and downpipes.

I have to disagree with Autovlog on this one. You can feel the difference anytime you get on it. I find myself turning on the sport mode mode a lot more often because without it you brake loose traction wise all too often and the traction control kicks in. The only time you can’t feel the difference is when you are driving around mellow in comfort.

Just my my opinion but I’m sure others with the Dinan tune will agree. To be honest I was happy to see how easily the tuned car was able to pull away from the stock car in the video.

This does not look like a 84hp/97tq difference. No doubt there's a difference but frankly I was expecting more. I'll prob go for a catless dp tune during the summer.

I find that comment interesting. Only because unless you some type of expert which you very well could be....I don’t see how you visually see what that difference would look like. Especially based on that video. In that video we have no clue when the drivers were hitting the gas etc. just an observation.

Renntech says that their ECU tune gets about 605 HP, same as the Dinan piggyback. I also saw a video of Misha's which has Renntech saying they are working on a piggyback as well.

Peak power gain figures mean nothing when it comes to butt dyno. Butt dyno is all about low end torque...

Still waiting for some slip times...

People are putting up really good numbers on stock setups. I have a hard enough time keeping tires from spinning as is and can't really imagine that a tune (in any for or fashion) will make that any better without further modification to my car.

I'll have some as soon as my local track has some test and tune days. I've been running Dinan for around a week and you can feel the added torque in all gears. We had some "cold days" recently here in Austin (40f-50f), and so I did my first drives in those temps. Rolling into the throttle in first, second, or third gear would light up the tires or ESP sport would cut back the power. Without the right conditions (traction), it's not going to feel much faster than stock. But in the right conditions, the car is a beast. I've been driving in temps in the low 70's and the PSS's are much happier and stickier. They are, however, at the absolute limit of the stock 285 PSS's. Going up a size or two with some PS4's are my only other plans for the car once the stockers wear out (probably coming sooner now with the extra torque/abuse). When you have the right conditions, turn ESP fully off (ESP Sport will still cut power) and hit it in second gear and you will be pinned back to the seat if it hooks up. Third and fourth gear you're riding this immense wave of torque. My wife's butt dyno confirmed this as well, she said she feels like she's being shoved into the seat harder.

There aren't any test and tune days scheduled at my track until Feb 2018, so I won't be able to get times until then.

2018 C63S Sedan
Newbie here, 2018 C63S Sedan ordered early November, due late Feb to early March. Selenite, Black wheels, Night package, Napa Brown saddle interior and lots of electronics. Been lusting for an AMG or Brabus for decades, itch scratched. Ordered the sedan as I have a C350 sedan now and don't fit right in the coupe.. Wound not mind adding some tuning for a couple grand or less once I really get the feel of it as long as the original ECU is not modified. I ordered the car for my 70th B-Day... take me back to the days I raced Porsches so I doubt I'm a hazard in it.

Thanks to the posters for the information offered. Couple Dinan installers near here (South Florida) I remember from my racing daze.
