door handle lights

only had my car 3 days and my driver side passenger door handle light went blue and now off.. is this common

Yes, it is very common, but covered under warranty.

and when my car has no warranty in september will i be looking at big bills to sort out the lights???

Surely those lights are not difficult to replace?

mine is booked in at MB in blackburn on wednesday and they say its a full day of a job. i think they have to replace the whole door handle and not the bulb

It's definitely not a full day job, it takes less than one hour to do at most. However, you need to understand how dealerships work.

They often overbook themselves to make sure they always have jobs for their technicians so that they're not paid to stand around waiting for work. So your car will spend 90% of the day sitting in the lot, and 1-hour being worked on.

Nobody likes to hear that, so they'll tell you "it's a full-day job, we might even need to keep it overnight".

If you took this issue to an independent shop (after warranty), they'd have you in and out of there within the hour.
