2019 C63S seats
I am looking at ordering the facelift 2019 C63S coupe.
I have been in touch with local AMG specialist here in Australia, who has advised that the performance seats are not available with ventilation. In order to have ventilation option the seats would be similar to the E53 coupe. Does anyone know whether this is correct? Does anyone have experience with the non performance seats option in their C63S, if so what are your thoughts please?
He has also recommended for bigger build guys that it's a better idea to go for the above mentioned comfort seats rather than the performance seats, due to the feedback he has received over the past few years from owners. I personally took a non facelift W205 C63S wagon with performance seats for a 30min drive and found no issues in regards to comfort, so would welcome your feedback and thoughts?
Thanks,
Jeff

I think a lot of folks are not sure if they'll be too uncomfortable. Most people don't get them. I was also a bit hesitant at first, even though I like a snugly sport seat. When I first sat in them at an Autoshow, I wasn't aware that the side bolsters are adjustable, but eventually I found a car with them to test drive and 5 minutes into the drive I didn't even remember that I had concerns about the seats. I easily found the perfect seating position and for normal driving I kept the side bolsters all the way outward. They are excellent in my opinion and I'm not the skinniest guy. I'm 5'11" and often on the wrong side of 200lbs
. The guy from Remove Before Race also keeps telling people that they are excellent and very comfortable even on long drives, and he used to have back problems in the past. I did drive one with the standard seats and they are fine, but nothing special. I would say find a car with the performance seat that you can test drive, but be aware they are not exactly the same seats in all models. I tried them first in a GT S and they are different. The seat cushion for example doesn't extend in the GT S. The ones in the C63 S felt much better and the seat cushion extension is something I use all the time. It makes a huge difference to me. I don't like seats that don't extend.Regarding the ventilation, both heated and ventilated seats is now an option with the AMG Performance Seats in the 2019 facelift. As always, though, options can vary by country, but I've got the Performance Seat with Heating and Ventilation on my current build. I swore never to get full leather seats again after having had Alcantara/Leather in my current RS5, but I just couldn't resist the Black/Yellow interior that's now offered in the 2019, so hoping the ventilation will help with the scorching seats during the summer month and the sweaty back syndrome. It is not AC as somebody mentioned. It's just a fan that sucks air out from under your bottom to make you feel cooler.
The performance seats in the 2018 did NOT have ventilation, but they do in the 2019, so long as you get leather seats (perforations). It’s not available in the Dinamica. (All this is in the US; there may be differences elsewhere.).

Hi Jeff, I have order my C63S Sedan (United States) back in July, and I had the same exact issue with information on ventilated seats back then. That is true that Performance seats were not available with Ventilation option with PRE Facelift W205. 2019 Facelift W205 (Does't matter if it is sedan or not) is available with Performance seats + ventilation. Again, I am just referring to the Order Guide in United States, but I also looked at UK, and Germany, their online Configurators also have option of seats+ventilation.
Also keep in mind that these Are VENTILATED Seats, they are not COOLED seats. I had GLE43 Coupe AMG right before I got my C63S, and that feature is pretty useless in my opinion. There is a bunch of fans that are installed in the seat, that pull air from under the Drivers seat, or passenger seat if you're a passenger. So When we are talking like 100 Degrees outside and you had your car outside for a couple of hours, it just takes that 200 Degrees Hot air from under your seat and circulates that air within the seat. Most Definitely not a MUST HAVE option.
