Wider Wheels and Tyres C63 W205

I am looking to upgrade the wheels of my 2016 C63 AMG (w205) saloon. I specifically want to remain at the stock 19 inch wheel size however I'm looking to run the widest rears (with suitable tyres) I can get away with without modifying bodywork. Any suggestions would be much appreciated,

Many thanks

Mr T

I’ve just recently fitted new BC Forged monoblock 19” wheels.

I can can confirm the below specs will fit C63S Sedan that is lowered 20mm f&r and fitted with K-Mac f&r camber kits with 1.5 neg camber front and -1 neg camber rear.

Front: 265/35/19 PS4S / 19x9.5 et 30
Rear: 295/30/19 PS4S / 19x10.5 et 57

Hope this helps.

car looks great with new wheels RDO

Whats grip like with wider tyres?

I'm desperate for more grip.

my car has standard suspension so I wonder if it will work with your wheel offsets?

Thanks mate, grip has always been good with the 295 PS4S’s on the rear, I’ve been an advacote for a long time now.

The car feels & handles a lot tighter now with the wider wheels.

Now that I’m fitting the Yabeela turbos I’m picking some Toyo R888’s up this weekend for the rear.

If these better the traction over the PS4S’s i’ll buy a full set of the R888R’s.

I am tossing up if I should increase the 265 to 275 up front or if I should just fit a 10mm spacer.

I dont have any rubbing up front with the 265’s so I’m worried about increasing width and maybe scrubbing the guards.

Your standard suspension will be fine.

So there was a noticeable difference in handling with wider wheels?

if I remember correctly you had 295 on standard wheels?

who do you recommend going through for a reasonable price on wheels ?

Those rims look epic. only a tiny size 6 spanner to throw in, wet grip on the wider tyres is worse (may be relevant to a UK owner ) and also quite an increase to rolling resistance so an impact on fuel economy.

hot weather solves most of the traction issues on the saloon version for free...

Regards,

Mr cheapskate AMG owner

Would you have enough room for 305 rdo247?

What’s the gap between the rear tyre/fender & tyre/suspension

No, I don’t think so, not on the outside anyway.

Not it sure about the inside.

265's SS are disappointing

On a 70 degree to very low 80's in South Florida can blow up the rears in 3rd. I had thought 2nd would be the limit on that. 2018 Sedan

Why 19” over 20”

What made you chose 19” over 20” ?

I could not retain 295’s if changing to 20’s.

295/30/20’s would have increased the rolling diameter by an inch which I believe would have scrubbed inner and outer guards.

I couldn’t get my hands on this size tyre to physically trial the fitment so with all these factors I just cut it away and stayed with the combination I knew would work.

Theres a thread here somewhere that I posted if you want to check it out, just can’t remember the title.

Thx RDO

I appreciate your advice

I’m going for a similar set up to you. BC forged wheels

same offsets as you. I need maximum grip as my car has 400kw atw with current tune.

sticking to 265 up front. I don’t want go any wider up front as I think it will impact steering feedback and turnin.

My car is White and I currently have the black wheels. I really like the clear brushed look but am scared of how hard it will be to keep them clean.

Awesome mate, glad I could help.

What tune & mods are you running to achieve 400kw atw?

Id be interested in seeing the clear brushed look and you can always ceramic coat them to ease the cleaning process.

My 2018 Coupe came stock with 285/30 ZR 20 rears so I should think with a 19" wheel you can push it beyond 285.

285/35 or 285/30 will 100% fit on Sedan's stock 9.5J, for 295/30 it depends on which tire you choose, can confirm Pirelli Trofeo R 295/30 won't work due to its tread width is wider than most, I think PSS/PS4S or even PSC2 might work out but haven't tried those on 295/30.

I just ordered the last 2 x 295/30/19 Michelin pilot 4s in Australia

Apparently no no stock left anywhere in the country.

I may need a backup plan if my tyre shop can’t get the tyres?

Tyre shop recomemded the Yokohama ADO8R. Anyone tried them?
