AWE Track Exhaust vs Stock Performance Exhaust

Im considering an upgrade and to those who went with this change, was it worth it? Is the sound better, the growl deeper? Some of the videos Ive seen on youtube make it seem as if the car doesnt do those pops much?

Much louder, there is more growl ( probably because its louder ) and there is drone at certain crusing speeds ( I don't mind it but passenger not so much ).

does the car sound like it does when you cold start it for the initial 30 seconds or so with valves open?

i get some drone currently too since i deleted secondary cats.

does the car still pop and crackle much? Youtube videos i saw make it seem not so much. Thanks

With it, it always sounds like the valves are open. In fact my H-valve doesn't seem to be useful at all anymore which I don't really care. Another words, it sounds like it is always open. It cracks/pops and bangs the same as it did before the mod. Just louder now.

Actually just got this installed last week. It's the best thing I could have ever done to the car. At first I was a little hesitant because even on their website AWE says "can't return if it it's too loud for you!" or something along those lines. I just threw caution to the wind and went for it and am so glad I did because it sounds AMAZING. Everyone that's heard it has said it's how the car should have come stock. It's much louder but not TOO loud, I'm assuming that statement up there was for AWE to cover themselves for the retired folk who might want to keep it somewhat reserved for their neighbors or kids. I'm in my 30's and it's definitely not too loud for me. It's got a lot more grunt now and low end rumble. Still crackles and pops exactly the same, just a bit deeper now. The sound reminds me a whole lot more of the old 6.2L engine and is definitely worth the upgrade. Glad I didn't go with a more conservative exhaust or the switchpath.

hows your experience with drone been at cruising speed? Is it there constantly when cruising given that there are no mufflers with this setup?

Minimal drone unless you're an idiot and keep it in 5th gear. In 7th I can listen to music or have a conversation on the phone no problem.

I might need to put my secondary cats back in or this thing might get obnoxious loud

I have a Track on my C63 AMG (Non PE Sedan). It’s Loud BUT not THAT Loud as stated above. It could even be louder. There is some Drone (not really bad, but it’s there) Ex: 1,500 RPM’s in 7th going a constant speed. You have NO Mufflers, so you can’t expect it to sound Stock.

The SwitchPath is an Option if you want to be able to have BOTH, Loud (Track Version) and Tamer with No Drone.

I have a 17 C63 Bi-Turbo. The Drone, albeit not Deafening, it bugs me when I just want to chill and drive to work when I’m unable to go fast anyway and don’t want a constant vibration in my ears.

Get the Track 1st and if you like it your done! If the slight Drone you may experience bothers you, then you just get the Switchpath Conversion Kit and then you’ll have Total Control of your Exhaust Level.

Doubt it, I drove my friends car for the day with the AWE track exahust and thought it sounded good but needed to be a bit louder (then I found out what exhaust he had). I'm currently looking to do secondary delete + awe track on my car. Although I just came from a w204 c63 with long tubes and catless x pipe so....

I'd actually be curious to how you like the catback with the secondaries deleted.

I had non PE so I went Catless DPs and AWE track. It's insane. I only get some drone on the highway if i'm in 2200-2400 RPM cruising, which I rarely ever am. In 7th gear there is no drone and it's pretty quiet.

Beware though my setup under WOT it's insanely loud and cold starts are very obnoxious. Neighbors are not loving it LOL.

I agree that the Track is not THAT Loud. I said above it Could be louder.

Not sure if it’s Drone I’m getting but think it is, and I’m Stock. With stock exhaust going 60 at a constant low rpm, the car was quiet. Now with the Track it definitely is not. It’s not Intense, and many won’t mind it, but it’s there or I wouldn’t have spent money on the Conversion Kit. I just hope it solves MY issue and was told that is exactly why they offer this option.
