Hey guys has anyone had a similar experience with their car?
some sort of mechanical fluid or grease has stained my carpet. Car has been back to Mercedes but they don’t expect any responsibility.

Seems like some kind of solidified plastic or grease. 100% sure it’s from the seat mechanism Mat was sitting on top of it so didn’t realize it was there Stain comes straight from the seat railing
Mercedes claims that it can’t be any mechanical fluid or grease.
They might be right. Can someone accidental spilled
something on there? I would just have that area professional shampoo clean it out and see if it come back later. If it come back, then you would have evidence to proof that something is leaking back there.
I thought a few months back someone showed the same thing in their car in the same spot.
ya you sure did see it a few months back, but it was zeek1 posting it then too, 4 months later doesn't look like he cleaned it, and is still complaining about it
possibly it could be the anti corrosion substance Mercedes uses. For some reason it has leaked through. There is also some evidence it is starting to leak on the other side.
Mercedes are taking the complaint more seriously.
I actually overheard the service technicians discussing that they have seen it occur near the rear seats but never near the front seat railings.
So weird...I have this exact same issue on my 2018 C63 that I picked up back in late September 2018. I noticed it a couple of weeks ago right behind the passenger seat railing as shown in your picture and I swear it looks identical to the pictures you posted. I have a 3 year old who sits, on rare occasions, in a car seat behind the passenger so I just assumed it was something he did. Though to the best of my knowledge he has never had any food or drink while in my car.
I tried rubbing my finger on it and it is a very hard substance, almost like a dried glue.
I have yet to take my car into the dealer as I figured they would just point the finger at me anyway. I'm super curious to hear the outcome of your case with MB.
