RENNtech HHT (hand held tuner) allows you the unlimited ability to switch between tuned and stock ECU programming and requires no ECU removal!

Our proprietary tuning module stores both the RENNtech tuned file and your vehicles stock file. The module plugs directly into the OBD2 port and delivers the file you choose directly to the ECU. Programming takes only a few minutes and the vehicle can be reflashed at any time as many times as you wish.

RENNtech has been at the forefront of ECU tuning since electronic engine management started to show up in vehicles during the mid 1980s! Our experience, countless hours of in-house research, development and exhaustive testing ensure that our proprietary ECU upgrade offers incredible performance gains and rock solid daily driver reliability.

RENNtech tuning software for Mercedes offers significant gains in horsepower and torque across the vehicle's entire power band. By modifying ignition timing and throttle mapping, optimizing air-to-fuel ratios, increasing the engine's rev limiter and modifying boost mapping for turbo-charged vehicles, RENNtech performance software unleashes the true potential of your Mercedes.

With the proprietary RENNtech ECU+ Tuning the C205 - C 63 AMG Coupe gains up to +56 HP and +107 LB-FT, based on power numbers measured by RENNtech. Please note that the Mercedes M177 engine performance when measured, obtains higher numbers than rated from factory. The maximum power number reached with the RENNtech ECU+ Upgrade fo the C205 - C 63 AMG Coupe is up to 601 HP and 657 LB-FT.

C63 (S) AMG Coupe (C205 | MY2016+ | RWD | M177 | 4.0L V8 BiTurbo) Modified Performance (at crank):
  • Rated by RENNtech: 601 HP @ 5,650rpm; 657 LB-FT @ 4,250-4,800rpm
517whp @ 5,650rpm; 565wtq @ 4,250-4,800rpm
  •
    • Crank Performance Numbers are calculated with a 14% Drivetrain loss on RWD vehicles.
    • Note: Mercedes M177 engine performance when measured on the dyno obtains higher power numbers than rated from factory. Performance numbers published by MBUSA are a calculated average within a specific rpm range, which obviously result in lower power numbers than at the peak. HP and TQ gains calculated by RENNtech are always based on peak stock results measured by RENNtech and upgraded peak results measured by RENNtech.
    • For transparency and comparability, RENNtech published the average stock power during the rpm range set by MBUSA and the peak stock performance

I have a question. I see where the HHT can reflash the ECU with the car's original firmware. Is this firmware pre-programmed into the HHT or does it read the resident firmware? How does it handle regular updates through the dealer?

Yes, it uses the resident firmware. If you were going to the dealer, I would put it back to stock personally then re program when you are back. However even if the dealer does re program it over the tuned version it is ok and you will then still need to re program the tuned version over the latest dealer installed firmware.

So then all the upgrades done by the dealer will also be wiped out? What if you want some of the upgrade by the dealer to be there to fix others issues not relate to tuned?

NO! It will install the tuned parameters to the current ECU update that is on the car. So you can re install the tune after a revised update from the dealer for the latest fixes etc. to have a tuned version of the newest updates if needed.

ok sounds good. i wonder what sort of results i would get on a dyno. i just had mine dyno'd at racing greed here in canada. they use a mustang awd dyno. got some pretty high numbers considering car is stock. just a secondary cat delete done. my goal is 630hp+. renntech and downpipes are ideas to get it there without having to swap turbos. still researching!

Good numbers. I think with downpipes and tune you will be very close to your target number.

Has anyone tried this tune on a 2019? Any difference in sound (wishful thinking, I know)?

I just did the HHT, downpipes and BOV’s on my 19’ C63S. It sounds awesome but sounds NOTHING like my 2017 C63S with their downpipes and tune. I’m going to take it there soon and dyno the car. The car runs phenomal and spools up so much quicker but Hindsight is 20/20 and I should’ve just found a 2018 but I do LOVE the 9 speed
