Bring Your Own Brakes to Brake Shops?
I'm in the Austin area, are there any shops that let you bring in your own brakes and rotors to put on the car? I checked with German auto center and they said no and of course MB won't do it.

When you only want to hire their labor, you are taking away the markup on the parts, thus eroding their margins. The other thing is that they likely don't want the risk of something happening to the brakes that you supplied and then you or someone else makes a claim against them because the parts were inferior or defective.
Can't say that I blame them.

One of the first things I did to my wife's '13 C63 coupe w/Dev Pkg was to change out brake pads to EBC Red Stuff. More than likely, based on my brke pad options, I'll be doing the same. BTW, I'm 70 and stillI do everything automotive when possible. Lie the man said, it's easy.
