Lip & Trim Degrading
I've had the car for almost 6 months now and I wash it myself every week. I take great care of my car so its really disappointing to see something like this, which, as far as I can tell wasn't even caused by me.
There's also some degrading happening on my window trim, but in the pictures I'm able to get you can barely see it. But on the edge of the trim it looks like its chipping away.
Has anyone else had experience with this happening to them? Would Mercedes take car of it?
The cars paint which is graphite grey magno has held up great, as it should for such a new car. But I can't say the same for the gloss black components.

It wouldn't be unreasonable for me to insist they replace it under warranty, right?

I don’t do anything to my car beyond washing it and when I do, I use Chemical Guys Matte wash. Is it even possible for a soap made for matte surfaces to cause this to a gloss surface? From what I understand matte washes are extremely gentle, right?
I’m going back Monday to speak with a manager but this is really disappointing.
Any advice as to how I should approach this?

. If the above is going nowhere look into car insurance policy under damage to vehicle or homeowner policy damage to property ( your car) washed on your property.

This is absolutely unacceptable for any new car let alone a Mercedes at this price
I’d also try another dealer or possibly the dealer you bought it from. Most in my experience are great but some are rude and crap

wow that's frustrating, and it's a 2019. Yes speak to the manager and they should take care of this.
He told me it is not a defect because even the matte area just above it also was rough. He said it is most likely overspray (how? i don't know), something with how I clean it, or a road hazard. He said he'll look further into it and take care of it.
As for the window trim, with a little scratching it all came off, he said it was probably some left over plastic from when the car was delivered.
Fingers crossed they take care of the lip. I mean, am I expected to use one soap for the matte body and another for the gloss black parts? Regardless of what caused it, even if it was, say, over-exposure to the sun, such a problem shouldn't appear within 6 months of the car being built.
Will post an update here when I hear from them.
