Steering wheel wrapped-Lane assist Inoperative

Hello guys

My steering wheel wrapped with new alcantara. I installed back. Error came "Active Lane Assist Inoperative" Warning Message.
I checked the steering wheel wiring, there is no wisible problem.

Did you send it in to do this? Reason I say this is because the steering wheel with Active Lane Assist is different (internally) from the one that doesn't have the option. So if you did send it in perhaps they sent a different one and not your original.

Just a wild guess - but the steering wheel with lane keep assist has touch sensors integrated to measure if you have your hands off the wheel for more than a few seconds.. Depending what type of sensors they use the different wrap may prevent them to work. Dependent if they are capacitive or resistive touch sensors certain backing material could interfere....or the guy who did it simple broke the sensors when taking off the hold material?

I think he broke the cable underneath the original wraping. Can i just cancel this touch sensor?

Probably not w/o disabling the entire lane keep assist. Its a safety feature and I doubt MB lets you disable it easily but maybe there is a hack for it.

If I am not wrong, you can just deactivate it with this button (second from left)

Cant disable with the button, because error detected. The button is not in service. That was my first try.

You'll need to get it fixed as everything that comes with the package won't work either because of the error.
