How much life is left on my brake pads/rotors?

I'm in the process of purchasing a C63S and had an MB dealer do a pre-purchase inspection report which revealed the front pads at 6 mm and rear pads at 4 mm. And both front and rear rotors just about 1 mm above the minimum spec.

Obviously, brake wear depends on several variables most notably driving style. But just trying to get a rough idea of if I may need to replace pads/rotors pretty much immediately after purchase, or maybe 6 months, or maybe 1 year?

I'd negotiate with the seller to have them replaced or split the cost at least.

Usually that's exactly what I'd do. Unfortunately, they have another (legitimate) buyer willing to buy as-is at the undiscounted price (and I want the car).

You should count on spending between $1K-$2K for parts (rotors and stock pads -- you can do the work yourself) within a year, possibly a few months, depending upon your driving/braking style and how you use cruise control (cruise braking, apparently, uses the rear brakes only ... so long downhill cruise braking seriously wears rear pads).

Have a look at one or more parts sites (e.g., I mostly use FCP Euro as their parts are warrantied for a lifetime, even brake/wear parts) and you'll see the the front rotors are quite expensive for a C63S.

The rotor specs are fine. Just needs pads mate and if you're keen, it's a very easy DIY. Make sure the dealer or seller at least goes half on the cost ($1000 off). If not, walk. Don't fall for the old "another buyer" trick. It's an expensive car, you have the money, you call the shots here.

PS: In regards to the brakes, to make them last longer, one thing that helps reduce pad wear on our cars is driving with Traction Control set to "Sport", turn off Lane Keeping Assist and also turn off Steering Pilot. You'll see a lot less wear.

Just had Service A done last week at MB Dealership. My 2019 is 1 year old with 7, 750 miles.
Note invoice re: brake inspection. 3mm front (red zone) and 6mm (yellow zone) that MB mechanic noted will need to be replaced soon.
SA discussed that even with mm zones it could go some time before pads needed to be changed. But did not needed to replaced today. But wasn't sure.

Lol the brakes are shot. Ask for 2k off or walk. Stop being desperate - the seller can smell it 😂😂😂

New rotors have 3mm of usable material. So with 1mm left, you still have about 33%. Ride the pads until the warning light comes on. Front pads are about 350US and rears about 150US. Get some front/rear rotors from FCP Euro when they are truly worn.
