Maxton design front splitter

Maxton Design Splitter Hi everyone, I've ordered the maxton design front splitter its pretty cheap at 175$ + 95$ shipping to NYC (its coming from UK) I like the subtle look of it without the unnecessary winglets on the sides. What do you guys think? Any tips on installing it? Do i have to pull the bumper off?

Looks good, but seems like you should ask Maxton directly about installation steps/ tips ...

Definitely dont need to pull the bumper. Likely just 3M tape and maybe 2 screws on each end. That is how my PSM Dynamics installed. Let us know of the quality and fit - that is like 1/4 of the cost of the PSM FRP version unpainted!

C63s, the good sounding one
I like it, especially how it follows the existing contour. Let everyone know how the transaction goes and what installation looks like, I would like to order one also. Price + shipping to my area code = $262 American

Yeah, one reason I personally bought the PSM as it also follows the lines...main difference it a) is 4 times as expensive and b) it installs over the OEM bottom lip which makes it look integrated, one piece and not a bolt-on. But this one looks nice too.

Yeah it looks damn good for the price, it looks like the PSM Dynamics one goes over the existing bumper lip so it might not need a lot of bolts. I really don't want this thing flying off at 140mph.

Already ordered (sunday) expected it to be here Monday so about 8 days shipping time total. Will post some pics after install.

you...didn't bolt your PSM lip? I would definitely install at least 5 bolts for a lip that cost almost $2000. I had an aftermarket lip before on my W204 and that thing flew off and broke in half when I was hitting around 120 mph. I'm still butthurt about it because it was around $800 and I installed 3 bolts on the damn thing, but I can't imagine how pissed I would be if my PSM lip flew off as well.

^this. I got the brabus lip and my installer recommended not just to go with tape and a couple of screws. he used some kinda glue

Is there a bevel in the gelcoat for the logo/badge or is it just a sticker? On the last picture you can see the double sided tape, the most outer side detached so probably just tape mounted only. Interested though, it looks good and a nice sacrificial piece to scuff for the price.

Nope, installed the 3M tape and 2 screws on each end. The PSM front lip can't really easily fall off as it is slipped over the bottom OEM bumper lip and then hold in place with tape and screws. The maxton looks to be just mounted underneath. For the PSM you would have to pull the lip more than 1inch forward to go over the OEM lip.

Now, the PSM rear diffuser is a different story. I am not worry it flies off but I am worry that it takes my entire bumper with it when it catches air at high speed. It has a large under panel going forward beyond the exhaust mufflers! ...and its only held in place with screws which are put into the left and right lower side bumper panel. At high speed air gets caught and creates a lot of pressure (even though it has vent holes). I installed an entire AL bracket like a sway bar between left and right bumper panels and attached the front of the under body diffuser panel to it so it can not easily flap and rip the entire bumper off when it catches air. Scary design as at high speeds its like a huge under body sail....probably not good for aerodynamics either even though it has vents in the rear to relief the air pressure

I installed a few pieces of sliplo under my PSM to protect scuffing. Yes, this lip already separates on the sides.

Btw, one other reason I like the PSM it actually does not make the lip lower as it slides over the OEM...important when you lower you car and dont want to scrape on every incline or street bump (I have 8!! just coming in my neighborhood).

Splitter installed. The quality is top notch for the price. I used 3m tape 4 screws with bolts on the other side, basically where ever there was room. Every where else i used self tapping screws, 16 total. This thing is not going anywhere. Love it.

Looking good ! Did it come black gloss painted already - that's a real steal. My last question - is it hollow underneath, i.e. the little lip curves down but then hollow?

Good deal. I had to have my PSM Dynamics painted by a professional ...in addition to the costly base price.

The badge is glued on, it will come off with a little help from a heat gun. Will do tomorrow.
