Aftermarket Brake Pad Questions C63s Coupe 2019
I want to upgrade my 2019 c63s AMG Coupe (2 Door) for track day. If possible I (because I don't know much yet) would like to drive in these upgraded pads daily but if not possible then I'll do as instructed.
Currently I have oem pads and rotors, no upgrades have been done to the car or brakes.
I was told about these pads (from Race instructors at HPDE):
1) Pagid RS-29 or RS-19
2) Ferodo DS1.11, or PFC-08
I ate my brakes up last track day and right now my rear brake pads need to be changed so I'm like let's try the new upgraded pads. I'm having a hard time finding them when I type in my model.
I've emailed Racingbrake.com and pelicanparts.com and 1 other. I've searched these Forms but can't find a straight answer that says buy these. Thank you for any help

Poterfield for sure, I've been using them from the start. 80% less dust and the performance is the same as OEM.
I went with R4-S front and back.

EBC does have a nice assortment that would be good for track duty - Bluestuff, Yellowstuff, etc. are all available and are cheaper alternative to Porterfield pads.

If you often do track days and have the cash get a extra set of pads for the track and a set for the street
I have the Porterfields R4-S for the street and R4 for the track , I had tried using the R4-S on the track but they where no better than stock once they got really hot.
If you search online for Porterfield reviews you’ll find some good information

I drive R4-S everyday on the street and agree they are awesome. Less dust and better bite.
I bought a set of R4s for a track day in March that never happened due to an accident.
However looking them over they appear quite a bit diff that than the factory pads.
I'm assuming you replace your own pads including the R4s?
If I post a pic of them can you tell me if they look like the R4s you use on track days??
Thanks

I’m in this dilemna right now. “Ordered” ebc yellow for front and rear from buybrakes.com only to find out they couldn’t get them and told EBC had the part numbers but supposedly not actually making them yet. Vivid racing allowed me to order them online but can’t get a human there to confirm they exist. Two days later have no shipping information despite calls and emails.
Anyone have any recommendations about who actually has pads in stock and is working? I don’t mind another manufacturer but I’m not particularly fond of the oem pads.

So I just talked to EBC America. They have not produced their first set of pads, front or rear, for the silver caliper 63 in any compound. The resellers list them but clearly can’t deliver since they have not yet made a single run. 😒
the search goes on .... may be porterfield time.

I replaced my front pads last night to Porterfield R4S and after I was done with installation, I noticed these plates came off the original pads. I'm not sure if I was supposed to transfer those over the the new R4S pads or I should be fine without them?
I replaced my rear pads with R4S and didn't notice any plates. Suggestions?
Also, where do you buy your brake wear sensor for rear and front? I found some on Amazon but not sure if one recommends something different.

The C63 is a heavy car for track day duty and as such you are going to eat up tires and brakes at a rapid rate no matter what you do. Personally, if I were going to track a car I'd probably invest in a dedicated track day toy like the Lotus Elise and just keep the C63 for street use.

I went with Stoptech front and rear pads. Better than stock, inexpensive, and a direct swap on my red caliper S coupe. Had no problem sourcing them and getting them delivered.

Stock brake pads while dusty, bite hard af. I ordered these to replace my front rotors and brake pads. Lifetime warranty on all parts. Literally, you can not beat this.
