Mercedes finally fixed the rattle in my dash!

I took it in for a third time for this fricken clicken noise coming from the front of the dash. I had suspected it might be from the strut tower bracing and had opened the hood to see if anything was loose but of course it took a technician to properly check the torque of these bolts and sure enough the left side strut tower brace had loosened up a bit, just enough to cause it to shift while driving. The noise was near constant but now it is gone. FINALLY!!! I'm so relieved.

Anyway, if you have a cabriolet and have noticed a ticking or clicking/creaking noise coming from the front center of the dash area, check the torque on those strut tower braces under the hood. Sorry, I don't know the torque spec for these bolts.

My car is a 2017 C63 Cabriolet with approx. 27k miles on it. Totally stock, bought it CPO and have always taken it to the dealership for service.

Thanks for posting. I made a note to have it checked during my next service. I do have a creaking as you describe in my coupe and it occurs when the chassis flexes, so this could be the culprit.

Good work man! Rattles are the worst. There's something about them that just drive me nuts.

Me too, and this was constant. I expect a few extra minor creaks and noises over rough or uneven pavement because this is a convertible but this was ridiculous.

Anyone know the torque on the strut tower brace? I'm assuming that this is something that should be checked from time to time.

Congrats on fixing the sound. A $90k car shouldn’t have annoying sounds.
I am OCDish and even a small annoying sound would bother me and I would focus on it insistently.
