C63s Performance seat side air bag plastic cover paint peeling?

I noticed that air bag side cover on driver side performance seat is showing some paint bubble and peel.
I understand that passenger side cover is more prone to damage as seat belt is constantly hitting that plastic cover when there is no passenger.
But I don't understand how this got there. My car is only month old from dealer.
Maybe I should have MB check it out during my 2k mile service.
Is this common issue?

I haven't noticed it on my car - for a 1 month old car I'd be asking the dealer what's up. For the seatbelt banging on the seat, try moving the seat forwards or backwards

to be honest it may be that it was scratched when new and the dealer hired a plastic repair company to refinish it before you took possession ... normally they are not painted

I have the exact same thing on my car. It is caused by the seat belt hitting it.

I've done 4600km in my 2019 coupe (take very good care of it) and this has happened to my driver's seat (not happy).

Got the car booked in for its first service next month so will try to get it fixed under warranty...

I feel like this rubberized paint coating will peel again soon after getting replaced. Either way, I will ask dealer to check it out on my next visit probably later this week (they ordered new rocker panel and side sill to replace).
Maybe it might be better to peel entire thing off? I wonder how that’s going to look like...

Spoke to my dealer and his already ordered the replacement part (my brother has the same issue with his 2019 coupe). Hopefully they have fixed the peeling issue with replacement part but I guess time will tell.

I am bit late to the thread but I have the same thing as well on my 2020. Did your dealer end up replacing the part for you guys? How did you get the dealer to replace it for you for free without saying that's "normal wear and tear"? Thanks!

I've had over 22-25 cars and I've never experienced this with any of my vehicles so I wouldn't call it normal wear and tear.

Both my brother's and mine were replaced as part of warranty, no questions asked. The dealer wasn't even suprised to see it so I am guessing this might be a normal occurrence with current C Class
