First time here! - What are some upgrades I can do that will not risk Warranty?

Hey everyone, first time/post here. Been a lurker for a year or so. I recently bought a 2020 AMG C63s Designo Graphite Metallic

I love it. However, I wanted to know if there was anything I can do to get more sound out of it? It sounds UNREAL, but I wouldnt mind a little...more I suppose. If that makes sense. Also, things that would not put my warranty at risk.

I heard a
Renntech exhaust valve module would be a good option? Thoughts?

Would love to hear what you all think here. Thanks!

MB like any dealer will use mods as an excuse to void warranty.

I've been safe with the following....
Hand held tuner - anytime I go back for warranty or service the week before I flash back to stock and drive for a week.
wheel spacers - if I'm taking it in for any suspension area issue I remove spacers first.
air filters - these are fine to leave
Pure 900 turbos - being they change only internals in your stock turbo housing you wont need to remove them and matched with a tune are beneficial....i don't have these but have read this.
cosmetic mods - interior and exterior are fine

Hope that helps

First, get tires. Either Michelin Pilot Sport 4s or Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 MO1. That's the first mod anyone should be thinking about with this car because it makes a huge difference.

I've got Cup 2 MO1's in stock size 255 front and 285 rear for the Coupe and they are beefier than Super Sports and wider so they don't stretch over the rim like the Super Sports and they have a bigger contact patch so you don't even need to go to 295. And when you've got the tires up to decent temperature these fu*kers hook up all the time.

I've been debating which tires to get. So you would say that cup 2's made a huge difference?

Compared to the Super Sports? Yeah huge. Been using them as daily tires for the past 2000 miles and the grip on them is very noticeable after you drive on them for 15 minutes.

Floor it in 2nd with Cup 2's and no more wheelspin or nonsense. The Cup 2 MO1 (OEM AMG) version made specifically for our cars are dynamite. They work well in the wet, are quiet and are super sticky when warmed up a bit.

Cold they are fine too. They won't slip or give you worries unless you drive like a nutter before they are hot.
If it's a rainy day and the tires are still cold you can make them slip if you charge into a roundabout corner at speed but that's about it. No funny business. Plus I like how they are naturally wider than the Super Sports of the same size. No more stretched look or sh*t like that.

Well that sucks. I am dreading going into the dealership for any future issues. I guess pay to play.

Great information on tires , I was wondering the same .
I take delivery of my Coupe in March.

I have the staggered setup , 19 , 20
what should I go with to make the car look beefy yet , not ricer or that horrible tire bulging look .

It's pointless flashing to stock when you go in, your warranty is void the moment you had it tuned, it doesn't matter how many times you flash it to stock. They don't need an excuse to void your warranty, you did that already!

Tune = no engine/drivetrain warranty.

You might get your seat fixed, or some interior rattles sorted, but that's about it!

technically yes, practically not quite.

Only if they find out about it and flashing back to stock reduces that chance. Also depends on your dealer and SA and what the repair is about and how deep they dig into it. So, technically you are correct but real live is more subtle.

If you read literally the first line in my post is says all mods void warranty...including tunes.

However a close friend who is a mercedes tech for 15 years has said their scanners don't read computer flashes. They have access to current software model and any error codes amd such. So for most smaller engine and drive train of you're flashed back to stock with a weeks driving they can't see it.
however if you grenade your motor or transmission with catastrophic failure their senior management team have a log in to further look into past computer updates which shows your flash. They only do this on massive and suspect warranty claims.
once I was lucky enough to go into the shop and they showed me this. so techs will fix standard warranties up until a point which is most repairs.

agree on the second part when it comes to tunes ...but not all mods void warranty. That’s just a bit too far fetched. Maybe you mean performance mods but putting new wheels on and some spoilers void nothing

Every SA will handle it differently, I don't think a blanket statement could be made for all.

I don't think any reasonable SA would be able to find an issue with the small mods I have, being a lease (Secondary cat delete, asr module, black badges, etc.), but I have asked about how they handle tunes and whatnot.

I've been told by an SA at one dealer that any modifications at all will void my warranty. But at another dealer my SA told me that as long as the modification doesn't have to do with the problem, my warranty stays intact (Sounds fair to me).

the cup 2’s were great for the track, once they started to wear, they were loud and slick in the wet. P4S much better tire for DD IMO
