$3000 for replacing one fuel injector???
they quoted $3000 to replace one injector because they said the engine has to be unbolted to roll the engine to be able to get the injector out.
Does this sound right? Does the engine really need to be unbolted to get the injector out?

Unless they anticipate 18 hours of labor at $150/hr to replace a single fuel injector, sounds like you need to find an Indy shop or different dealership... or DIY.

I thought about changing it myself, but I don’t have xentry to re-code the injectors.
Both the dealer and local shop won’t just do the coding if I did the replacement myself.. they said they would need to do the injector replacement AND the coding.
If a coil is out or even a plug it will tell you.[/size]
Have had this tool for a few months now and does about 80% of what xentry will do.
With my estate being so modded this scan tool has already paid for it's self. Highly recommend it.

I can't for see that an injector wouldn't be plug and play.
Dealerships charge premium price and perform substandard work; they're thieves.

OP the injectors are $700 each in Australia from Mercedes so whoever told the you $3000 in the US for a single injector plus labour is fkn dreaming 😂
