Considering a c63-thoughts on this car?

Hi Everyone,

I drove a c63 today locally but that particular car was missing some equipment that I would prefer to have. Now I’m browsing some out her options and came across this car.

looking for advice as to whether the deal is good, what to watch out for when I go check it out, and whether anyone knows of or has seen this car personally.

Thank you for the help!

Can you be more specific on which options are make or break for you?
Depending on which options you see as "necessary" could make this a good deal however, i have seen better optioned vehicles, with slightly higher miles around 35-40k, for just about the same price.

I would prefer to have the amg sport seats, performance exhaust, forged wheels, leather, panoramic roof. Seats, wheels, and exhaust are not dealbreakers but would be nice to have. I don’t really care about driving assists like adaptive cruise control, etc.

The car I drove today was a non s without any of the above, really clean CPO car at Euro Motorcars in Bethesda.

What options do the cars you’ve seen have that this one does not? I’m new to Mercedes and AMG, so don’t know a ton about the options packages and such.

So to recap, you test drove a c63 non S that you didn’t like because it was missing options you want.

Now you’re acquiring about the S version (link provided above) 2016 C63s with 29k miles clean title with HUD, night package, and performance seats for essentially $48k. Without doing a market value research and just based on my understanding of these cars in the used market, this seems like a decent deal.

But the first thing you gotta figure out is whether you don’t mind that it’s missing the performance exhaust and cross spokes wheels because they’re options you’re wanting. If you can live without them, then I’d recommend you test drive it to get a feel for it, potentially get a pre purchase inspection (PPI), then do a market and KBB/Nada search online to see what a good market value for it. Both the PPI and market research will give you a better idea on how good a deal it is and will arm you with enough ammunition to negotiate if you determine that is the car you want to get.

Hope this helps!

Seems decent, but I’d look nationally too. I bought a c63 sedan, 2018 w 9k miles last month for $53k. I had wanted to be nearer to this price but for 2.5 years of total warranty and almost new mileage it was worth it to me.

Id definitely drive one w performance exhaust in sport plus before buying. It’s a great option that I can’t believe anyone who buys this car wouldn’t want.

I’ve been trying to look within a couple hundred miles. Have a newborn at home and really don’t want to buy a car sight unseen/can’t fly out to get it. How can I tell if the car has the performance exhaust option?

OP, ironically im in NoVA and was about to test drive the same car you did at Euro Bethesda but saw it was a non S model. I know there was a 2020 S model for 67k on vroom which has what you seek but not sure if its been sold. The one you see at Koons in Baltimore had some odd title issue with the mechanical limits on carfax and ive noticed its changed hands at dealerships/auctions across the US during the past few months which suggests a car that couldn't sell, but I could be totally wrong. Ive come to realize the c63 S models require you to expand your search nationwide as they just didn't make many of these cars unlike M3s and S4s.

I learned the story of the car today. It was a one owner car when Koons got it and they sold it to a guy in California. Thats when the title issue occurred (which triggered a second owner) and then he registered it (showing a third owner). Apparently, he had an issue with his bank/financing and the dealer brought the car back to the East coast because the deal fell through and is selling it again. 67k is well above my budget I’m really hoping to stay more around the 45-50 range.

i understand that...it just limits you. I was more comfortable bc it was a cpo, I got tons of pics and I had a ppi done.

For exhaust, either have them send a sticker with options, or look to the right of the command dial on the console. Performance exhaust has an exhaust icon which you push to turn it on.

agreed. I found an old listing from the selling dealer that did showed an original msrp of 85.5k. This one seems like it ticks most of the boxes if the car checks out.

I'd hold out and keep searching for one with the options you want. I ended up going with a better optioned non-S C63 coupe (performance seats, exhaust, 360 camera) instead of a lesser optioned S version after test driving both back-to-back.

My '16 C63S w/ 33k is for sale. Forged wheels, performance exhaust, leather, pano roof. I could arrange an inspection at my local dealer, and if you wanted it drive down and meet you in NY/NJ and then I'd fly home to New Hampshire.

Thanks! I didn't love it at first (I didn't order this car, I found it at a dealer), but it really grew on me. I think the silver of the fiberglass complements the silver alcantara inserts in the seats well.

For your price range, you’ll be hard pressed to find something decent. GL

I agree. There are plenty of good cars in your range. You can even get CPO in that range. People think that if these cars are over two years old they die...it’s not true.
