Christ, imagine buying thousands of dollars worth of parts and getting the runaround and excuses for half a year. Then buddy responds to you with on social media with BANKRUPTCY.
In my 20+ years of dealing with the aftermarket, I have NEVER seen a carbon fiber accessory company become successful. They all flop due to quality control issues, lack of staff/resources (being done out of their own garage), and incredibly lengthy timelines which are never met.
I’ve banned carbon fiber companies. OEM or bust. If we’re talking performance stuff like carbon intakes, manifolds, and the like, that’s a whole different story. None of these vendors like Mode Carbon have the R&D capabilities or knowledge to design performance parts in lightweight CF. So they just send out dinged up lips that were returned from unhappy customers, or they screw of the clear which yellows, or the weave is off but they decide to clear coat and sell it anyway.

All garbage and money down the toilet IMO.
you are joking right. Lets name some big CARBON FIBER Accessory companies.

Dude, I’m sorry about the health issues you had - but saying it was never due to a lack or resources when you said “These all occurred while I was in the hospital with no means of communication with our customer base” is pretty telling that you don’t have the staff required to keep your business running if you’re out of commission.

Brabus is an established performance company/tuner. They employ over 100 people.
Same goes with ABT, they’ve been in the Audi tuning scene for decades.
Mansory - they produce completely custom carbon body kits. 9 times out of 10 they are absolutely atrocious looking, but that is not even close to a Mode Carbon that makes little lips, spoilers, and interior bits you tack on with 3M tape. They have 25-30 employees.
And Novitec? Really? The same company that supercharged Ferrari’s back in the day? Sure hope they’d be capable of producing quality carbon fiber parts... again, like Brabus and ABT Novitec Group is a tuning company with decades of experience developing performance parts for exotics and over the last 30 years expanded their business into other areas like composites.
Between those companies alone, they probably have 50x the number of employees as a small business like Mode Carbon which I guarantee has less than 10 employees. More than likely it’s closer to half that number... if even that, considering the absence of the owner can cause customer service issues to go unresolved and the company faces bankruptcy in just a few months.
So yea, I think that answers that question. You don’t have resources or staff to keep your operations running in your absence. You don’t even have a succession plan.
And this is why composite shop operations always fail. If you only have one person or just a few people producing the parts, performing QA, providing customer service, sales, and marketing, then you’re simply setting yourself up for failure. I’ve seen dozens of these small op. companies come and go over the years. I bought custom carbon fiber interior trim in 2004 for my B5 S4, and within 8 months the “company” was out of business and offered no support whatsoever when my parts came with broken tabs and all the BS you hear from carbon fiber production defects.
Mode Carbon is an absolute joke. They should be banned on here and every other forum for literally stealing people's hard earned money and not delivering products. This is based of my own personal experience with them last year where I waited nearly 6 months to get my parts with excuse after excuse why it was not available. I would advise people to stay clear of them.
@Mode Carbon I am ashamed that I even ever stood up for you!! after reading your comments, Post and such on many other social sites, you are apparently making crap up as you go.
There are customers complaining from September last year, and you are telling them, due to an accident, blah blah blah..
As for refunds, chargebacks etc, when a customer does a charge-back it DOESN'T need your account to have money in it .. Tell your clients (instead of screwing them) to file a chargeback so they get there money!!!
At this point, your a thief , douche , d1ck, etc etc.. and KARMA will level you..
NOTICE TO ALL: Of you or you know anyone that has PAID for products and NOT gotten them, and getting this run around, tell them to file a CHARGEBACK claim with the credit card company ( unlike what many think, there is NO HARD time limit, you can request and file a claim 6-12 months later, more so if you never received the product)
2nd , I am working on discussing with NY State AG, I looked into some of his claims of this 65MPH accident and have friends talking to state patrol and authorities and so far, I am just getting laughs.
Yes, I purchased and spent thousands of dollars with ModeCarbon in the past and I guess I was lucky I got what I ordered (this was 2+ years ago) ..
+1 bro this guy is a fraud especially that pic he reckons was a 65mph head on with no airbags deployed hahahaha what a fukn dud
was just about to mention that pic is no way a 65mph head on...looks to me more like a failed donut/burnout (yes I have done it before in my teens lol)
also don't understand how replying bankruptcy in all capital letters can be taken out of context.
