Carplay upgrade for PFL
If you want to know more contact Kai at zcai31@asu.edu. He will make you a good deal.
Also, Kai was super responsive when I got stuck, mostly because of my own doing.
I will enjoy that module, was missing carplay in my PFL.

Does it work for Android Auto - no issues whatsoever with the audio on calls?
Does it use the factory microphone?
For those who is interested install a module for your sweet W205, I have lowest price and easiest installation module compare to the whole states ready for you!
You can simply reach me through zcai31@asu.edu, or fast reply 213-595-7498!
Unfortunately, I did not keep install pics but it's a small, flat box like most others. Will test call quality later a but more to answer question above.
Found a pic before I tugged it away
PS: the extra wires you see are for cars w/o OEM backup camera or OEM mic etc. Not needed to connect for our cars except connecting another and digital ground together.

One note: after setup, I reconnected my phone to MB Bluetooth so that I can use it when not on Carplay. The phone steering wheel controls work only for MB phone connection. When in Carplay mode I just use Siri and works fine from what I can tell.
One other interesting thing: I can be in Carplay mode and still use OEM sat radio. I simply control it through the screen between the gauges. Same works other way around - I can play music through Carplay and when I switch back to OEM Carplay music keeps playing until you want listen to OEM radio/sat. Not sure if that is all intended but I like it as listen a lot to morning news on sat radio on my way to work.

There is no need to cut anything, simply connect all the cables to the oem car system(behind center console), hide module in the passenger seats and your are good to go!

One small none-OEM behavior is when going in reverse (shows backup camera fine) and than in forward the center screen shows "no signal". A quick tab of the back button brings it all back. Maybe something I have not figured out yet. Took a longer trip with Carplay Navigation, Music, and a few messages and all was fine.
Update: the "no signal behavior" I described above is not an issue, just me not waiting long enough. It will switch back after exiting backup camera.
