Pissed off at Mercedes of Temecula

Brought the car in 3 days ago for a campaign engine software updates and a loose cable. Called the services advisor for an update yesterday and today with no return call back. So I decided to stop by the dealer to see what’s going on. To my surprised, the car still sitting there untouched. They told me that they has been backup for 1 week. I regretted for not take up on the offer for a rental car. If I did, maybe that will help getting my car work done. Look like I’m not gonna have my car for a week. 1 hrs job is going to turn into a 5 days of waiting.

That does suck. Did you line up an appointment beforehand or just drop off? If it is the latter, then the wait is understandable given how service departments at dealerships need to stack customers (and given that many people put off maintenance during the first half of COVID).

I waited 2 week for the appointment. I’m debating should I just pick up my car on Monday and give the business to another dealer.

That is absurd. As a matter of principal I would pick up the car and take it elsewhere. Is Temecula your closest dealership? Laguna Niguel and Newport Beach are great dealerships.

If you had an appointment, expectation is they should have had you in an out within 90-120 minutes. Or called you to offer you a loaner if they realized they need more time. These guys don’t value your business or got respect for your time. I’d personally definitely pick the car up and take to a different dealer.

Voting with your feet is the only way to make your point known with a business. Good luck man!

What are you gonna do? Make an appointment with a new dealership that doesn’t know you from boo and ask them to drop whatever they’re doing to work on yours? Call A dealership, make an appointment and ask for a loaner and stop complaining.

Yeah man it’s different when you’re buying a car and they’re about to get that $100k from you, they generally happy to give you that special treatment. The dealers that stand out are the ones who maintain that service level throughout your ownership so that when you’re thinking about an upgrade or know someone who’s looking for a car, you’d think of them.

Trust is hard to earn but easy to lose… Keep us posted!

Did you even read my post # 1?I’m not asking them to drop what they doing to work on my car but when you made an appointment for a 1 hrs job and waiting for 5 day with the car still un-touch. Let me put it this way so that you can understand. Next time you bring your car in for an oil change, hope they keep your car for 5 day and see how you feel.

That’s not bad at all actually. I booked my 09/05 appointment in the beginning of July. And I know SA and tech very well. They are short staffed, lots of techs just walked out.

My problem is NOT booking an appointment. My problem is the car is at the dealer for 4 days and counting just for the campaign engine software update which only took about 1 hrs. They over looked everyone appointment and it piling up.

**** bro, thats nothing. I was a writer at a BMW store here in south Florida for years; people would drop off and their cars not touched for 8-10 days. The issue is that your service advisor didn't set the right expectations from the beginning. Stuff happens man, it sucks, I get it, but it's how things are -- especially right now.

I have an appointment to get my car serviced this Friday, I fully expect on it being there a minimum of a week.

MB dealers are generally bottom of the barrel. This thread is just a recent example, of many.

Rare exceptions to the bottom-of-barrel badge exist. Rare indeed.

Monday morning I showed up at the dealer and voiced my disappointment. Of course my service advisor apologized. He then made a called to the Tech and was told the car will get look at that day. Today is Wednesday and no words yet if the car is done. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice same on me.

Lol I took mine in for the update and waited in the lounge. It took 35 minutes and I was out the door.

And this is boston area where all dealers are super busy and this dealership is number 1 rated in area and has a gtr black series inside for sale.

Go find a new dealership
