C63 remap?

⏱️ 700HP Facelift converted C63 S Coupe with Drexler 3.06 plated LSD
Stage 1 - No hardware required. ECU & TCU (Transmission) Tune. BMC panel filters are an upgrade too but not required.
Stage 2 - You'll need Downpipes + Intake minimum for Stage 2 ECU & TCU Tune to be done.
To be honest, Stage 1 is perfect for these cars in terms of keeping it a daily driver, traction and being able to keep your downpipes stock etc.
I've got a Stage 1 and making just over 600hp at crank and it's enough for me. Power to weight ratio is equal to an AMG GT C (328hp per tonne) now and I can still get decent traction on stock tire widths using MICHELIN PS4S in the Coupe.
Catless downpipes are a bit too much and sort of ruins the sound (too much rasp) but that's just my opinion.

Thanks for your input, yes coming from a 580bhp quattro s6 this feels very underpowered. I'm planning to get Michelins Ps4s first before I remap. I've got 265 on the back would going to 275 make any difference?

Apparently PS4 All Season are even quieter than Ps4s and give better traction, according to reviews and comments on rennlist etc

Underpowered? The S6 weighs almost 4500 lbs, whereas the C63 sedan comes in under 4000 lbs and the coupe at about 4000 lbs. Looks like you've got the sedan, so you have about the same power to weight ratio than a 580 bhp S6. Sorry, I first thought you had the S, which would have a higher power to weight ratio. I'm guessing you struggle to put down the power in the wet and cold UK. Need to get heat in those rear tires to get moving. A tune is just gonna make it that much more difficult to put the power down, even with slightly wider tires. You may wanna try something like the PS4 All-season first to get more grip in the colder and wet climate you live in.

I personally haven't tried the all-season. With an average of 300+ dry days a year and Mediterranean climate, the PS4S outperforms the all-season for most of the year here, but in your neck of the woods I'd give the all-season a try for sure. It was at least in parts developed for the C8 Corvette due to customer demand from those living in adverse climates, and I've read good things about it. The PS4S is arguably the best all-round street summer performance tire, but you still need to get plenty of heat in it for full grip. I'm actually planning on trying the BMW Star variant next for the rears. BMW together with Michelin changed it to be closer to the Cup 2 than the standard variant PS4S while still having good wet grip. They are now available in the 285 size for the coupe and the 255s for the front are now available in AMG MO1 spec.

When using launch control it slips a little but hooks and goes near the top end of first gear and sometimes second. Works well in the rain too as I have no issues with drivability. However, I do have a friend with a sedan tuned to roughly ~580whp and he runs toyo r88r 295 on the rear with ps4s in the front. Handles great and almost little to no wheelspin on launch.

I have a c63s. Not sure if the pre facelifts have launch control, but to activate it you have to be in sports plus or race mode, be fully on the brakes, and then click both paddles at the same time. It then should prompt you to press the right paddle to confirm race start and then you go on the gas all the way, and depress the brakes.

Go easy on little old UK.......we are not above the Arctic circle!!....on average we only have 133 wet days a year...so that's 232 dry ones And a summer daytime high average of nearly 70F.....so less of the cold and wet please!!

Is your car a c63s? Will mine have launch control its a prefacelift c63 not an S, if so how do I activate it? And thanks for the input, his tyres are very wide I may go up to 275 if I can find a good deal on Michelins. I'm just not sure whether to go for all seasons or ps4s

It's all good. I have family in the UK. It's not about the highs. I've spent some nice summers in London. It's about the average and how low the lows can get and you can even get snow. I've gotten snowed in at Heathrow more than I care for. Summer tires don't provide much traction in the 50s and low 60s, and are starting to get hard below 45F. We can get occasional cold spells here if the jet stream shifts like at the moment, but on the other hand it was in the 70s last week and I was wearing shorts. Your lows at the moment according to the weather forecast are around 3c at night (London). That's no good for summer tires especially as many of you are forced to park your cars outside. The compound can develop microcracks at those temperatures if you don't warm them up first before driving. We don't typically see temps in the 30s here, even at night. 45F and occasionally 40F is about as low as it gets. It can get into the 30s further north, but then we take my wife's car with all-season tires if we head up there during the winter.

UK owner here... I got my C63 (non S) in late Summer and after being used to a Tesla, the C63 felt a bit sluggish stock so had a remap from MSL in Birmingham who specilaise in these and the power now I'd say is perfect and is around 600bhp.
I also fitted MPS4S on the rears and went upto 275 wide and the grip is pretty good and better than the standard MPSS.
I drive a lot on narrow, broken B roads and while you have to be carefull (esp when coated in mud!), any RWD drive car with big power will struggle putting it down when wet and cold.
I honestly wouldn't put all season tyres on in the UK it if going down the remap route as you're kind of as your giving the car power on one hand but taking it away with the other using a lesser performance tyre.
