Quick Question Regarding Instument Cluster

A buddy of mine is looking to purchase a C63S Cabrio, the car is located in the US but it is previous Canadian (legally imported and federalized) he had the car to a local shop for a PPI and noticed that the Instrument Cluster is showing Celsius instead of Fahrenheit, they tried to change it but were unable to do it, so they told him to take the car to a local Benz Dealer, which is what he did, he had a Second PPI just to make sure the car is good (which it is) and the dealer came back and told him they were unable to code it back to Fahrenheit .. WTF??? is it really "impossible" to do so? if anyone has any ideas or suggestions i would greatly appreciate it

Thanks

Yes, unfortunately it is. I've actually been trying to change mine to Celsius, because that's what I grew up with, but I've been told by MBUSA that temperatures and pressures are in the prevailing units for the region that the car was sold in. The only way to change it is to change the region and dealerships can't do that. Apparently only the factory and the VPC have the ability to do this. The end user can only change the distance unit of measure between kilometers and miles. MB apparently thinks that people would not want to change the other units of measure to anything other than the prevailing units in their respective market.

Its doable for $$. Reach out to mbhouse in Canada. They do remote coding.

Thanks for the recommendation I've just sent them an e-mail in regards to changing my Engine Data display to HP instead of KW (Australia) as well as the PSI in tire pressure display screen.

Will report back if these guys can do it or not.

Never heard back from MB House so they're duds, but RJ Automotive did mine and he's the best coder I've worked with so far. Guy changed my tire pressure KPA to show PSI and also the KW to display HP in no time via remote coding and even checked some other things on the car without hassles or mucking about.

Honestly the real deal - thanks Eaton for the recommendation.

Other coders I've contacted/used like Sonic Racing in Singapore and that Vlad guy from this forum f*ck around too much.
Sonic Racing my God, please avoid those guys - biggest nightmare story with them promising the world and then attempting to code my facelift multibeam headlights but in the end completely disabled my front turn signals then telling me to go to the dealership to borrow a Vediamo laptop to continue was the worst - avoid them at all costs or get reamed in the a*se).

Glad I found RJ Auto in UK going to use his services from now on. Forget these other jokers RJ is your guy.

Very surprised that MB House never replied to your email. They just finished a full facelift conversion for my GT R, including the headlights.
but I’m glad you were able to do it with the other guy.

Did you guys try changing the units of measurement in the app Mercedes Me Connect > Settings > Units?

Angry Changing temperature gauge

It is very annoying that the user can not change between Fahrenheit to Celsius and back, even with this option being available in Mercedes’ Me profile. All other leading brands do it through settings.
Further more, what is the point of including that option in Mercedes Me application if the settings are not transferred to teh car MBUX?!
still awaiting explanations to my mail to MBUS but, frankly, do not expect any meaningful justification, if ever replied though😑😡

2020 C63s Sedan
I just finished exporting/importing my 2020 c63S sedan from the US to Canada. MB doesn't actually want you to export your car to another country. Warranty service isn't honored, connected services no longer work. I was even told the simple act of importing the car to Canada could be enough to void my US warranty! If I had to do it over again I would have sold the vehicle in the US and just found a local car in Canada.
