really dont like how the car has those closed off those radiator openings in the front like the current c43 does... personally think the open mouth design of the current generation looks so much more aggressive

They are not, at least not on the right/drivers side of the car. On the c43 they are closed.

I like it but the engine though.... imagine having at least the M256.... that would be very nice... oh well... 4MATIC was the reason why I got the C 43 as it snows like almost three full seasons here....
I would consider this new one if it had a M256 (I don't think I am the only one).

Totally agree. That would have been enough to keep C63 customers IMO. It can sound really good (like most inline 6's).

Maybe they will release a c65 or c73, etc. with that exact option. Who knows. Apparently the GLC (in some variant) is going to come with the m256 from RBR's most recent video on the base trim version.

I am hoping that is a case but I heard the only six cylinder the X254 gets are diesel ones and they are not AMG versions, even though I am not an SUV guy but if it is really not just the diesel that would be nice and it is good to have options.

You may be right. Might have gotten too excited and jumped to that conclusion. I would think that if the GLC gets a 6 cylinder the C class will too because they share so much in common. It's a stretch to say the least.

Think I'll pass. The weight does it. And complexity and expected lack of mod-ability ... plus a lot of whats ready been said.

For the price I would be looking at competitors or, if i wanted the electrification aspect, even just full EVs that are faster still.

Overall it has too much Japanese/Korean exterior design language as well, which isnt always a bad thing but just comes off a bit too generic, except for maybe the fasias. (But every car has some wild Sport fascia to make up for its soullessness these days, so ...)

Interior looks good though!

I'm excited to drive the new C63S. Yes, its not a V8 anymore, but I'm looking forward to all the new technology coming from the F1. I love driving my Tesla Model 3 Performance a LOT! I've replaced my lemon 2019 C63S with a 2022 M4 Competition XDrive and I'm not enjoying it, it sounds just bad, gear change is very smooth and it feels like an "electric" car so whats a point of burning gas when I can have all that in my Tesla (minus the Coupe looks)?

b58 sounds better unfortunately lol (IMO)

I think a 4 cylinder in the 43 is fine. There was nothing special about the V6 despite all the groaning I am hearing from that crowd. the inline 6 sounds great and would have been very cool to see in the c63 IMO.

*****I agree. The inline 6 would have been cool given the 8 is gone now. I really really like the sound and performance of the 8. The C63s 8 cylinder with the performance exhaust is just such a cool car and I have several other makes/models of performance cars. Just a fun car to drive all around.

Such a good shot man black looks real aggressive 🖤

Fu*k this weird 4 cylinder W206 though I'm still heaps tripped out about it since 2019 when the rumours started.

I saw this W206 it's using the facelift W205 tail pipes still. Truly want to hear it haha

I guess since we are comparing four cylinders to four cylinders, we should compare it to the B48. Actually no, on a second thought, take that back entirely, even the 240i uses B58 with that i6.

What are you doing Mercedes?!

Or... should I be thankful MB still makes ICE C 63 and not a BEV C 63, given how their strategy has shifted completely to electric now according to the strategy update a few months ago?

Why would you be thankful? Mercedes should be the ones thankful to even have returning customers after the shocking build quality of the W205.

I am not defending Mercedes (or maybe I am) but at least the interior of the W205 still looks good till this day if we are purely talking about the design while some competitors aged poorly (but as you can tell I am super biased, as I do love the W205 interior a lot).

Interesting you mentioned this. I went out with the local Porsche club last weekend for some spirited country road driving and there was a Taycan directly behind me at one point. When the roads got twisty while I was on the bumper of the 911's in front of me the gap to the the Taycan got really big! All that being said we just got my wife a Q5e hybrid and I kind of like what the electrification brings to the car. Rock the steering wheel from side to side and you definitely feel the batteries underneath but there are certainly advantages as well.

problem with C63 E is that the batteries are in the trunk - so you don't get the benefit of the weight having a low center of gravity, etc.

I'd rather just have a mild hybrid or a full electric car. I do trust AMG will make the car pretty incredible regardless.

This article is really interesting. E turbo can effectively charge back the batteries? To what extent and if actually meaningful? IDK https://www.designnews.com/automotiv...-first-e-turbo

Anyway

Here's the most realistic and updated 2023 C63 render based off the car's reveal last week.

If it sounded anything like the AMG One I would definitely consider the W206 C63.

^ That's even less displacement

if anything it will sound exactly like this with some E sound added - just like the GT63e performance

View this post on Instagram

they might make it a bit more fruity knowing they need to appeal to the V8 customers - a 45s can sound pretty rowdy - although nothing like a V8
