*****If it is parked outside a lot in the sun - that can happen due to thermal cycling of the paint over a flexible base (bumper/fascia) as well as UV light affecting the paint that has a flex compound in it to keep it from flaking off when painted on a relatively flexible surface. It happens more often on dark colored cars or it is easier to see the contrast versus lighter colors like white, silver, etc.. Dunno if it is a warranty thing, but I've had it happen on other models of cars I have had that were painted black. Eventually I just had it re-sprayed. Some surfaces and materials are more sensitive to it, especially if they are painted carbon fiber, which is a different material than the rest of the bumper or fascia, or if it is hard plastic versus metal, etc.. Thermal stress affects different materials that are painted and the compounds used in paint have to have special chemicals in them if they are to be used on a flexible medium versus something like metal.
The chemistry of paint and how it bonds has to be adapted to a surface for optimal adhesion and life. There are chemicals added to aid in this. Hope this somewhat helps...

Happened in all of our cars even facelifts unless the car never (ever) sees any sun. They all do it unfortunately. Warrant will replace them for you or you can buy new ones.

****Ok. This is funny to me but mebbe not funny to others.... My car was in for servicing and they gave me a loaner car....Usually, it's a little Benz SUV or sometimes a little C300 or whatever... I got... wait for it... A Toyota Yaris!!!
Our local dealership is OUT of loaners and anything they can sell, old loaner, new loaner, some poor *******s wrecked Benz that was fixed with duct tape and cardboard, whatever! SOLD. My dealership has some used cars, I guess trade ins, and that's all they had to give me until my car came back!!! So, I got a loaner car worth less than the wheels and mebbe gas in my C63s (which was a $100k car with options.. before tax...) and I had a *blast* driving that Yaris car!!! Ahhh.. yes.. how the other half lives! It's actually NOT that bad of a car! Has a CD player, the A/C blows cold, the seats have an adjustment (forward and back..) and the cloth is supple and doesn't smell too badly of Philly Blunt's, cheap cigarillos, and B.O. The cup holder can hold a large Big Gulp from 7-Eleven, or perhaps a cold Bud-Light beer... It's a normally aspirated engine so of course ALL 126 horsepower is available immediately with NO turbo lag at all !!!
I'm thinking it's a good value for $15k !!! The plastic hubcaps really almost look metal !

They gave me fairly new glc300 with less than 5k miles on it.
Whenever I accelerate, I hear loud rattling noise coming from center console area…
Anyway, I would not mind driving small cars like Yaris for few days. However, what sucks about all these rental/loaner cars is that they do not have Windows tint on them.
If they do, it is usually low quality ones.
All my cars have high quality nano ceramic tints. So being inside the loaner without tint is really bad especially this time around with temp hitting 100F.
