I've been doing research into Radiator, Intercooler, Transmission cooler upgrades for the M177 W205 C63S Coupe engine. As everyone is well aware of the M177 Engine has cooling limitations, and as such increasing the cooling systems and intake systems can solve this problem. There are many companies online that provide upgrades, however, its not exceedingly apparent which of these solutions is the most superior. Many of the products are seemingly plug and play, utilizing the same hardware connection as the Factory tubing and the same mounting points. I'm looking to upgrade the intake, heat exchanger, auxiliary coolers, and potentially trans cooler. Have any of you guys had any experience with any of the options out there? What was the difference? Any recommendations?

I've Included some of the options I'm aware of below:

CSF https://csfrace.com/the-ultimate-coo...for-c63-amg-s/
VRP Speed https://www.vrpspeed.com/product/vrp...eat-exchanger/
PLM https://privatelabelmfg.com/products...heat-exchanger
CTS https://www.ctsturbo.com/product/cts...eat-exchanger/
Modal Works https://modalwork.com/products/w205-...rs-stage-2-kit
Wagner Tuning https://www.wagner-tuning.com/produc...400001004.html
ZAC Motorsport https://www.zacmotorsport.com/collec...cooler-upgrade

Thanks So Much In Advance.

My plan is CSF radiator, and both aux coolers. Modal works trans cooler to compliment my weistech trans pan.

running this exact setup. Runs great! Also cant go wrong with all modalworks. Went CSF as it had grille protectors from rock chips.

iv thought about all MW, but what does theirs provide that CSF doesn’t? Since CSF is sold in way more retailers. I can get better deals for their 3 coolers vs MW.

I sure hope MW trans cooler is up to the job. At Sebring I’m seeing 250 trans temps. I’m aiming for no more then 210 if possible.

ModalWorks PWR 3 piece coolers
Modalworks as they are the only ones who ever provided testing data and their coolers are made by PWR who supply DTM and Formula 1.

If you want the stock look you can paint them black or use paint thinner on a cotton bud to remove the logos.

Best thing about these are you won't need mesh protectors as these coolers are bomb proof and will not puncture like the stock Mercedes aux coolers do. I've driven with these for thousands of miles through the worst conditions from outback dust storms to snow - rocks just bounce off.

My review on them is here.

have you tried their trans cooler? I see no data at all for it, nor any testing. I need to know if I can reliably HPDE at Sebring with it and not worry about temps.

I’ve run the trans cooler for over a year with MW modified thermostat and keeps the temps under 200 in North Carolina 100F summer heat, while ripping on it with over 700whp. It works really well. With modified thermostat it takes a little longer to get up to temp, especially in the winter.

I was thinking about their modded thermo. In FL getting to 140 temp shouldn’t be hard. Sounds good, I got fingers crossed that it does as well at HPDE

Hate to revive an old thread, but see the CTS Turbo Radiator costing way less than any other brand, anyone have any positive or negative experience with this product? I am wondering if the CTS, CSF, and Modalworks products essentially function the same and have the same build quality.

probably because it's from alibaba, not saying its bad ofc, I might order one myself. A friend of mine has it installed on his C63s (we live in gcc and the weather gets really hot in summer) and he did notice his temps going down by a bit, nothing too crazy.
