Just came across this latest RBR video celebrating the 205 and putting it in contrast to the 206. Just tragic to hear that the C63 went from the best selling AMG to practically zero sales with the new one.

This is a really good video thank you for posting it here superswiss. Watching it just makes you proud to be a 205 owner 🤙

One thing I tripped on was hearing old mate say he doesn't know one person who has bought the new 4 cyl c63...

Ps: @japamg you will like this video bro

I’m happy about the zero sales on the new one. Should knock some sense back to mercedes that customers opinion matter

I too am on the Porsche Configuration during my lunch break. I also stopped by Aston Martin to take a look at the Vantage F1 and that didn't excite me as much as my C63 even though it had the same engine

The new Vantage is pretty exciting I must say. It's what the new GT63 coupe should have been. Lighter and proper RWD. Only issue I have with AM is their insistence on using a torque converter automatic, but at least it's rear axle mounted for 50/50 weight distribution.

The W206 was the best salesman for the W205.. There was 20-30 W205 C63s sedans for sale in the entire US. In a few months it is down to less than 5.

Somewhat related, I just heard that the EU auditing body determined that CO2 emissions from cars have not gone down in the last 12 years, despite all the emissions and fuel regulations. Hybrids in particular are spewing out much more emissions in the real world than during the certification that heavily favors electric driving. While engines have become more fuel efficient, the average weight of cars has increased by 10%, and the average power output by 25% over this time period and that has effectively wiped out all the gains. As for PHEV in particular, it has long been known that most PHEVs are rarely or never actually getting plugged in. Just goes to show that the majority of people just don't want to bother with having to charge their cars.

So this brings us back to the W206. 12-15% weight gain over the W205 depending on options and 33% gain in peak horsepower, albeit only for 10 seconds, otherwise a more moderate 6%. Wanna bet the real world CO2 emissions aren't actually any better than the 205? 400 hp out of a 4 cylinder doesn't come from nowhere. Human behavior is something nobody ever seems to factor in.

Two words incompetent politicians. Cars such as tesla and the eq mercedes put out 0 emissions but the battery is an environmental disaster. The grass is not greener on the other side

That's because it has nothing to do with emissions, it has to do with power and control. OK, we want to get away from gas and go electric, if 20% or probably even less went to electric cars the grid, which is already strained in many
parts of the country would absolutely collapse. We want to save the environment, OK, what do you do with those lithium batts when they need to be replaced? OK, we want to save the environment part 2, what makes up 35% of
electricity generation?? NATURAL GAS!! Here's the real answer, do you know how many pounds of cobalt goes into a lithium car battery? How about 26-30 pounds and do you know who controls 90% of the cobalt on the planet?
China!
