H pipe modification

Not many owners realise that the H-pipe plays a huge role in the way our cars sound. Once you start fiddling with it the sound becomes strange.
As you can see in other threads I've done all of those things from welding the H-pipe, cutting it off, keeping it "open position", keeping it in "closed position" etc. And it all sounds off once you modifying it. Our cars need the H-pipe flap as it subtly opens and closes depending on RPM and so forth.
If you want to keep the signature AMG sound and need to entirely replace your H-pipe the two best options are:
Hooker Blackheart flap 71013001-RHKR
Akrapovic valve actuator flap for C63 S
But if your exhaust H-pipe is causing issues such as rattling or squeaking please see our thread for fixes here: C63S Exhaust Rattle thread. You can fix it.

I actually did the copper grease thing you mentioned and have no rattles at the moment, was just curious as to the benefits/sound profile changes with it. Considering that the z performance exhaust thing is pretty much an x-pipe, it's good to know that it actually ruins the sound.
