I’m in a bit of a weird situation. I had relatives coming over my house a few weeks ago. One of mu adolescence cousins who is 16 brought over a 16 year old friend. The friend stole one of my amg keys which I was able to get back a a week ago. I found out that the 16 year old is a runaway kid who has been stealing a lot from stores to electric bikes. My little cousin told me he said he made a copy of my 2018 c63s key and is planning on stealing the amg as he got my address. I know in england people can copy keys signal. Is it possible to duplicate the key without the car? I’m in south fl and cops here are pretty useless unless the crime has already happened. I went ahead and unplugged the battery from the car, removed the wheels too and installed 6 cameras all around my house.

No, key has to be programmed to the specific VIN and paired to the car. Requires physical access and only the factory can create a new key. Hope your cousin keeps better friends in the future.

No chance it can be duplicated properly unless from factory. Bloke stealing it needs an original key or a flat bed with dollies.

Tell your bast*rd cousin if your car gets nicked his toes are coming off. Show him the hedge clippers.

forget if anything happens to the car..........i would say if anything happens to him or his house at ALL then i would cut off his toes. The car is one thing, and probably was the first target, but this person has been in OPs house, probably scoped the place, knows the inventory....i wouldnt be surprised if they come back

OP - do you know for sure that person stole the key? i would press charges or try to nip the threat in the bud immediately

the only thing I got in the inventory is 2 benz and 2 tacoma. Tacoma would be the easiest to steal. I took measures to deterred them. Leaving backyard lights and front yard on with 4 cameras. I leave tv on until morning. Disconnecting car batteries just in case. Im not sure how many of these punks would come back and when

hahha I have full coverage for things like this. I’m just worry that if and when they break in my house with guns then I would have no choice but to shoot back. Police can’t be there 24/7. Last thing I want is blood spilling in my house and the legal stuff along with it.

Fair to say "Stolen c63 coupe... Key" is more appropriate for the thread title. Glad the car itself is fine.
