2018 C63S AMG - Brake pad help needed please!

Hi everyone!
I just picked up my loaded 2018 C63S 2 weeks ago and OMG love it. Honestly have never owned anything like this. Only has 33,000 miles ( I will attach photos in a couple of days. I have a mechanic that has worked on AMG's for years and said if I pick up the pads etc he will put them in for me. I am not mechanically inclined at all. I checked FCP Euro and the guy there wrote me back and said they only have the Mercedes pads and they are 800 and change for both the front and rears. That's nuts. Any feedback/recommendations etc are hugely appreciated and I will order them right away to have them here. I am driving it in Sport mode all the time as my guy told me the comfort mode keeps the revs too low much of the time which isn't good. The car doesn't need them now but I want to have some stuff here as things in the world are crazy. Thanks in advance for any feedback and help and I wish everyone the very best!!!!

You may when the time comes to purchase a Brake kit that includes rotors, brakes and senor.
There is debate when changeing brake pads for these models you also should also change the rotors. I did.
As it pertains to the MB Genuine rear rotors they will rust esp winter conditions. Thus ugly looking rear wheels. I had 2 pairs of Genuine rear rotor and both started to rust almost immediately. Rotor hats, not performance.
This time I ordered the rear brake kit from FCP euro but instead of the Genuine MB rotors and brake kit I ordered the kit with ZIMMERMANN Z coated rotors that also included the original Genuine mb brake pads.
As shown below the ugly rusty MB Genuine vs. the rust free Zimmermann rotors. The Zimmermann rotor have very positive reviews.

Please only use CF ceramics... anything else is just a waste. Highly recommend new rotors if there's a smidge of waviness in surface or a lip also. Good luck.

Welcome to the fold. FCP Euro has lifetime replacement guarantee on parts you order from them. You pay for the first set and then when they are worn you send them back and get full store credit. Since you will go through brakes a lot on these cars, it'll pay off. I have both the front and rear kit from FCP Euro on my 2019 Coupe. Second set on the front and it was free after having paid for the first. I got grandfathered into their previous policy of giving a full cash refund. Next set will be store credit. I also use the rear kit with the Zimmermann rotors. The MB pads are great pads. Also, as said above, you wanna replace the rotors at the same time, especially the fronts. The rear rotors are typically good for two sets of pads.

Parts for these cars are expensive and you will need new tires and brakes regularly. Gotta pay to play. First time owning a car like this will be an eye opener.

Many thanks to you and "JJ" above! I ordered the Zimmerman rear package this morning and will order the fronts later this week after I rob the local bank! 🤣 I can't thank you guys enough for taking the time to help an "old Grampy" (my granddaughters words ❣️) out.

Well, there is still value in worn parts. A worn rotor can be melted down to make a new rotor. It only lost 1-2 mm of material off the surface, the rest is raw material usable for making new rotors etc. The lifetime replacement is also only for the lifetime of the ownership. When you sell the car you have to buy new parts for the new car and the buyer of the old car may wanna replace the parts with parts from FCP again, but they have to pay for them. They can't send the worn parts from the previous owner back to get a refund. Their previous policy of giving cash refunds was abused, so they changed it a couple of years ago to giving a store credit, which means you have to keep buying from them to use those credits. It keeps customers loyal, and they likely buy other stuff.

@superswiss My OEM Mercedes front brake pads are HORRIBLE for brake dust, are the ones in the FCP Euro kit just as bad or are those a different compound?

Exact same pads as far as I know. Brake dust never bothered me. It's barely visible on my black wheels anyway, but I also don't daily drive nor spend hours in stop&go traffic riding the brakes. Only time I have excessive brake dust on the wheels is after a hard canyon run with lots of hard braking, but a quick touchless wash rinses it right off.

EDIT: Oh, and I also mostly drive in manual mode taking advantage of engine braking. Old habit from driving manual transmissions for over 20 years.
