Help! I don't know what to do!

Hey all, I've had this car since January of this year and it's nothing but problem after problem. I recently scanned the car and was presented with a P0021 and P0024 code without a CEL on the dash. I looked up the codes and they're for Bank 2 exhaust and intake timing being over advanced. Now, I've had this car and the performance has not been different since I've gotten the car. I've since cleared the codes and have not seen them back after multiple scans days or weeks after clearing them. I have no idea if my timing is off or not and don't know what to do at this point. I've thought about taking the car to MB and have them inspect the bank2 cams to see if the timing is indeed off but I never have time to do this. If anyone has experienced something like this or has any advice I'm all ears at this point. Thanks again.

IF going third party for repairs, you must not CLEAR codes. Wait to see if the code comes back and take it in then. Also, did you find the codes from a random scan or did an MIL light come on? Were they stored codes or active? Sounds like they may have been stored codes. Had you scanned the car prior to finding those codes? A true timing issue does not disappear. Maybe thats why it was traded in but perhaps fixed before you got it without clearing the stored code?

So I did scan the car after maybe a month of ownership and only had the codes for some electronical fault due to a spill on the center COMMAND console button stack. I honestly don't know when the code came to be active but when I cleared the code I heard the cams rotating and then no code. There was never an MIL light that was illuminated and hasn't been since.

First of all, is your car completely stock?

Heard the cams rotating when clearing code? Can you clarify?

With these engines, you want to do your due diligence and check cam sensors and magnetic adjusters for oil incursion right off the bat.

Good Luck

Good Luck

Maybe I just heard some electronics resetting or something when I cleared the DTC codes. I just know I cleared them then the code never came back. At least as of yet. I also don’t have any codes for cam sensors or solenoids malfunctioning. I DID have just those 2 codes for p0021 and p0024.

Does this car currently exhibit any actual issues? If I understand it correctly, there are no signs currently of anything being wrong. No warning lights, no error codes and the car drives fine. Am I missing anything? If the codes are not coming back after you cleared them, that generally means the problem that triggered them is no longer present. Having said that, how have you driven the car since you cleared the codes? Have you given it the beans, taken it through the rev range, hit a few red lines and in general put load on the engine. If something is on the fritz or about to fail, it's more likely to give out when there is some real load on the engine.

Yeah, I've gone through 2 tanks of fuel and asside from casual driving to work and back (10 miles one way) everyday I kinda spiritly drive the car on sport / sport+ to have some fun. Maybe I'm overreacting on this type of situation but I've never had a MB AMG car before so a lot of this is still kinda new to me. I've tried to test drive other c63s near me but nobody has them it seems other than dealerships and I don't think they'll just let me take one out for a spin without trying to buy it or sit down and waste my time.
