Edmonton, Alberta, Canada - DR. BENZ LTD Automotive Repair..

Well, after getting the screws put to me on my last visit to the local authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer here in Edmonton -
WEBER MOTORS GO-AUTO, I've had enough of the lack of detail and care and lies.

I went in Sept 2009 to WEBER MOTORS service to have a exhaust noise looked at and to my dismay, it needs new catalytic converters on the L/H side. Luckily the manufacturer warranty covered that, or else I'd be out $4,000 Canadian.

Well, recently the very same noise came back and yes, it's only 8 months later, and the very same catalytic converter has "split" apart and the noise has re-surfaced. I took my G500 back to have it looked at and I'm now told it's not covered under warranty and it's my fault, plus the manufacturer will only replace it once.

That's bull****... "my fault"... as if, so in a hussy I stormed off and only to find out that four of the service guys have resigned recently from WEBER MOTORS GO-AUTO, and opened up there own "Mercedes-Benz"service since the Go-Auto group recently acquired the old Weber Motors.

Well, I went to visit DR. BENZ and the old boys DON & ROB & RICHARD were there to greet me, I was so pleased to see people who I knew for years and years that have taken care of me and my family only to be welcomed and familiar with my service needs to the following:
1987 190 2.3
1987 300 T/D
2004 C240 4matic
2002 G500
2005 G55 AMG
...

anyhow, Richard (Service Tech with MB for umpteen years) told me its' a simply fix... a lose clamp/connector to the cats and 20 minutes of my time, and I was down the road.

You tell me who's screwing who... NEVER NEVER will I deal with GO-AUTO GROUP OF EDMONTON, ALBERTA, CANADA.

Thank you Dr. Benz Ltd. Automotive Repair for looking after me... I certainly will be back and referring many of my friends to take care of the cars with STARS.

Thanks for posting this. Nice to hear that an Independant is in town with real Mercedes techs.

Do you have a website, or phone number? I couldn't find it on Google.

Funny, I had a similar experience with Weber's parts department. Asked about some parts via email for my '99 C43 AMG, as I had dealt with the parts guy there before. No response. Okay...off to David Morris I went!

Gentlemen,

Dr. Benz Ltd. is now called World Class Auto Ltd. same location, same ownership. Just different name. Check out their new and revamped website: http://www.worldclassauto.net

Thanks.

Wow, I've heard of MB dealerships charging out an arm and leg for simple fixes but this one was really over the top. Glad to hear that you've got a good place to go now, I'll bookmark their address for when I move back one day.

Unfortunately not, so I take it to World Class Auto (name change from Dr. Benz, apparently it was a requirement from MB Germany & Canada that the name "Benz" is copy righted) at any rate, I get the boys to do my regular scheduled maintainance, using OEM PARTS, and if I need warranty work, I use David Morris Mercedes-Benz... they do a great job and u ask for Christian Ellison (Assistant Service Mgr).

Thanks for the tip. So you are saying that WCA can do my 'B service' for me without voiding my warranty?

I am due in 1000k but didn't like my Weber Motors experience. Quoted me a price on my used 2010 GLK (15,000 km) so I flew in from Grande Prairie only to find they made a 'mistake' on the price I was quoted.... Nice when your first experience with a dealer leaves you feeling screwed. Love the car, hate the dealer.

If I can get the regular service at World Class Auto and not void my warranty it's a done deal.

I think BOYRACER had mentioned that World Class will do your regular maintenance schedule, just if you want to maintain what is left of your warranty take it to David Morris. Your experience will be phenomenally different from Weber to Morris.

Agreed. David Morris is miles ahead of Weber in regards to service. Go Auto is ruining a lot of dealerships in town as they buy them up. Norden is now starting to suffer from the Go Auto way of doing things also. Team Ford and Kentwood Ford will rip your face off if you're not careful but "If your credits' so bad your mama won't lend you money"..... I guess the Go Auto dealerships are the place for you! LOL! I've heard World Class Auto is a great place for non warranty work.

World Class auto Ltd.. Those guys are terrible at customer service and quality of work is unacceptable-poor. Lots of things not tighten and overall quality of repair is not even worth one star. Very rude! DONT GO there, rather save your money and go to Eurasia or Prestige Auto.

And all that experience that he got from Weber Mercedes is nothing but crap. Quality of work at Weber Mercedes is just horrific so I am not surprised that World Class Auto (Dr.Benz) is crappy as well. Never going there again and i suggest you guys don't save your money and time.

I believe the experience you had was due to a tech that wasn't careful. He has been let go due to his negligence. I have my CL65 serviced there and they are awesome. Never had a issue.

The guys at World Class Auto are a class act, they are very helpful, they go out of their way in order for you understand everything you need to know about your Mercedes, I called around at 1st and individually checked out the shops mentioned on the boards. I ended choosing these guys to service my Cls550 and its a choice I wont ever regret, you save a whole lot also going with these guys over the stealerships and prestige auto, I strongly recommend Don and his crew to service your vehicles for those out there wondering...cheers

I had a E class 320 and last week while driving in a normal speed in a rush hour suddenly the whole dashboard turned red and says "brake defective, stop vehicle." I got confused and don't know what to do at that time. Thus I reached a nearby auto care service center and told about this thing. They helped me to solve the problem within 1 hour.

Angry Weber Motors

Just got back to Cold Lake from Weber Motors in Edmonton where I had taken my E320 for a "Check Engine" light concern. They told me it was the oxygen sensor, had to order from Germany....cost me $922. Yes, $922!! Got 30 miles traveling home and "Check Engine" light went on again. Phoned "Service Manager" twice with no return call. Do not recommend this shop!!
