Which phone do I need for the 2001 CL600?

Will a regular Startac work?

Do I need to visit the "workshop" to activate it?

Regards,
Ed

Good luck getting it activated. Most companies wont activat the old phone. My '04 CL came with a phone that I could not activate becuase it didn't have some kind of GPS chip tht the law requires. Fortunately, my dealer replaced the phone with one that can be activated (I think). I'll check to see what model it its.

All of them, as much as I can...
Verizon will do it...

they gladly activated my original MB phone in my '01 CL6.
Charged as an add'l phone on a family plan. Just bring the phone, if it has one, to a cellular dealer.

Otherwise, search here regarding "cell phone" or look for Vendetta. I think he got a kit to install a regular Motorola phone.

I just talked to Verizon and they will NOT activate the older (without GPS chip) phones. So I talked to MB and they will sell me a brand new V60-S phone for about $700. They say it will work just fine. (Famous last words)

Get the 815 and the mikbox. You will still be money ahead, have a better phone and you can take it with you to your next car.

I got the 815 at the Verizon store, MB could not make their's work. So when I get back from my mini-vacation I'll look at the Mikbox further. From what i have sean it looks good. While at MB they gave me a reference card for MB wireless solutions, www.wireless4mb.com , they say they will have a system out after the first of the year. They gave a real vage price though, said double the amount of the cradle....$400 to $1200. I may look into it further but the Mikbox looks promising.

How many of you have used it?

Regards,
Ed

Do I need to already have a old Motorola phone from mercedes installed and activated before I can integrate the Mikbox and my New phone from Verizon (Motorola E815) ? So far I only see the cradle for the Mercedes phone in the car, but no cell phone. Thanks for all the help!

I recently contacted www.wireless4mb.com and www.mikbox.com and was told that a Bluetooth solution is due out by this January. I myself have an 01 CL500 with the Timeport. From what I was told, this would be a full integration with the vehicle (Voice dial & Address mgmt). My wife and I both have Bluetooth enabled phones and mine is a Blackberry so switching was not an option. This is great news for us. I tried my phone on a BMW 545 with Bluetooth capabilities and it worked great.

I was going to buy an official MB Nokia phone and swap SIM cards everytime I enter the vehicle. The wireless4mb rep then told me about the upcoming Bluetooth product. We shall see....
