2003 CL55
CL 55 color matrix

I have ordered an 03 CL 55 to replace my 02 CL 500 Sport and want to know what the color choices will be. If anyone has a link to the information, please reply. Also, from the description on the link above, the interior of the 55's will differ from the CL 500. Specifically, the seats will be different on the 55. I like the comfort package seats in my CL and wonder if the 55 will have the cooling and message feature. Finally, is there information about the release of brochures, order guides etc.?

2003 CL55
Stevo;
Don't feel too badly, I took delivery of my 02 CL 500 Sport last Sept, but have decided to go for the CL 55, which I expect in the first quarter of next year. The much more porwerfull CL is going to be available sooner than I expected and I cannot resist. If you want to dance...

i dont think anyone knew about the new engine back whenever you got your car, stevo. i think its a stupid thing on mercedes' part to change the engine after a couple of years... but hey, when youre first on the list for the new CL600, who cares?

A few things concerning the new CL55. Saw today firsthand the dealer info sent from MB.

-There is no blue interior choice on the CL. Interior choices are oyster, stone (replaces java), charcoal, and ash. The SL has a blue interior choice (teal) and so does the CLK (navy), but not the CL.
-Interior trim options are the same two woods as previous years, or the new aluminum trim option.
- Exterior colors include pewter and capri blue.
- The massaging ventilated seats are an option.
- There is a 15-spoke 18" wheel option. Standard wheels are a carryover from previous CL55.
- Other options are the same as previous years, except no Timeport phone option, only the Motorola V60.
- Heated steering wheel was not on the option list. Maybe it's a standard feature.
- All option prices are TBD.
- There have been only 2 allocations in the entire US so far for the new CL.
- Did not look too closely at the CL600 info sheet, but it likely is virtually the same as the CL55.

I heard that there will be a facelift as well as new brake lights. If that's the case....I wonder how much it would cost to have the dealer install the OEM '03 lights?

2003 CL55
A Train:
Any information about the pattern/materials on the CL 55 seats for 03? Will they be like the 02, which is the same as the CL 500, or will they have deviating stiching and different colored or textured panel inserts? Seems to me that I read about perforated leather (like the 02) and Nubuck combination in one of the articles on the CL 55. Also, I read that they would have adaptive side bolsters in addition to the pulse/air condititoned feature on my 02, but have not seen MB specs or order guides yet. Finally, when will they start to deliver the CL 55's here? What is the significance of two allocaitons and how does that differ from allocations of the 02 models? Glad to hear that Stone will be an interior option. It looks good with black exteriors, although I may go again with Alabaster White, this time with Stone. Car looks bigger in AB than dark colors and contours/wheel wells/air intakes show better, IMO. Also pleased to hear that current wheels will be available, as I want to see the multispoke wheels before deciding. Pictures in germancarfan article show 10 spoke wheels, not 15 spoke, but SL 55 apparently has 15 spoke.

- AMG sport seats will be offered. I do not know what they look like or materials or whether can be ordered as ventilated seats.
- CL55 should be here in early Nov.
- The wheels are indeed 15-spoke. The MB wheel option guide has a picture of it. Any dealer should have it. It's not a very recent publication.
- Not sure how allocation compares to previous years. The 2 mentioned are likely VIP dealer orders. Not a cause for concern. Regular first allocation nationwide should begin end of September, get built in October, arrive November.
- I personally am not a fan of stone. I'm just not a fan of brown / tan shades, unless it comes with sharp contrasting piping and very sporty seats (like a DB7). Stone is a very light tan.
- I think Capri Blue, Silver, or Pewter, any of those exteriors w/ Charcoal interior and alum trim is the way to go. Oyster with light wood is my favorite right now, but don't want to do the same interior again.
- Let me know if missed any questions.

'22 Alpina B7,'21 G63 Renntech obviously (wife), Wrangler(kids)
My Cl600 has oct 10 prod ,end of november delivery, changed order from Tectite(wife hates it) to Capri blue with charcoal burlwood combo.Had to pay extra for heated wheel(!!!!),keyless- go and sports pkge.I don't know what sp. pkge includes this time, dealer had no specific info.I am courious though because 03 Cl600 has 265 back and 245 front standard tires.
