The V-12 found the power again!

Had the car in for service for a few minor things and mentioned the intercooler pump seemed weak as Renntech diagnosed my IAT as high and the car seemed almost sluggish once it was warmed up. They replaced the pump and the car is a whole new animal now. I tested it at 60mph and the rear end broke loose and the traction light came on!

Now it feels MUCH stronger than my S55 did. I think Mercedes did a little fibbing when they claim both the V8 and V12 produce the same power?!

blahzayblah,
What I mean is that 2001 CL = no turbo = no intercooler = no intercooler pump.

well i realize that now, but doesnt the 500 still have some sort of device to keep engine temps under control..thats what i was referring to because i figured since my car is 5 years old something might have went.

The engine is kept cool just like any other normally aspirated car, in that it uses a standard radiator, thermostat, fan, and water pump. If the car is not running hot, everything should be ok. What red00light was refering to was the intercooler pump that cools the compressed air, and not the engine temp.

Hello red,
That's awesome. I too always suspected that Mercedes underrated the tt v12. I guess it's all about marketing. They couldn't have a non-AMG car's advertised performance better than that of an AMG car. Hope your airline is doing well.
