Exclamation new 00 CL owner Pics posted...

Hello guys.

I purchased my 00 CL 500 for 31k last week. I am 24 years old and feel proud to purchase the car on cash by myself (nothing daddy funded here..)

I have driven honda my whole life my last car was a 02 S2000. Driving a V8 Benz this luxrious is a step up...

it has about 40K miles 1 owner 44 year old guy owned it and babied it since day 1.It has all the options except for the parktronic, Fan seats, and the rear sunshade visor...
Options include 18" AMG wheels..

All the maintainece etc.. are done.

As i read thru this forum i am just worried about the ABC pump going bad since that has not been changed yet.. Should i be worried alot?

I am getting use to all the features the CL has to offer.

Anyways here are some pics.. Let me know what u guys think....

Going to the dealer to see how much extended warrenty will cost etc...

Thumbs up CL Looks good

It was a good deal for a single owner car.

Extended will be around $ 2800.00 for
coverage to 75K or 3 more years. Thats ballpark

Almost everyone I know that has a 2000 CL has gone thru a
ABC pump. Dealer R/R is about $ 2700.00 Normally happens before
50K miles.

So the extended warranty makes good sense on that alone.

First thing I would do is some premium rims.

Enjoy your car !!

so would you think that abc pumps last only about 5 years? my cl is a 2001 and i bought it used and it needed to be replaced in 2006? and i had about 50k miles then...i guess i am set since i just bought a new one but damn that sucks...

Thx guyz!

I am thinking about getting it tinted this weekend 5% limo tint all the way around... i know it will be a risk in the front windows but i will take my chances with the Cops.

I called benz up and they have an aftermarket warrenty not the benz warrenty.. and i think it varies depending on years etc.. i will check it out.. to see whats up..

what causes the ABC pump to go out? SHould i start looking for one just incase it goes out.. I have a spare to put on? How much is generally labor for the abc pump?

ABC Pump and CL500

I remember the pump was $2100 and labor $600
They have to bleed the system out and it takes some time to get it right.
Dont suggest doing this one on your own.

One morning mine just started making some extra impeller
noise. It did not fail and let the car fall on its tires.
But you could hear it going. And feel some vibration in the wheel.
It would keep pace with the engine RPM.
Mine happened at 28K. But the car was at that magic 5 year mark.

I bought my extended thru MBLN. I think its from a company
called Heritage. They covered the pump. I think its a "must have" if you
still have a original pump on a 2000 CL500.

One more thing. Get the tail lense kit. They really make the car look
great. As well as look like a later model. 2003+
They are brighter too.
E-Bay item # 320022486080. Worth the $ 380.00
And you can do this one yourself.

Yeah, and do something else with that chrome moulding, especially if you do 5% limo tint.
