Car is perfect, inside and out. I live in Southern California and car has never been exposed to snow, slush or salt. I have all the original books, manuals, keys, key cards, brochures, window sticker, Mercedes transferable warranty paperwork and car cover. I am very meticulous and believe my car is the finest example of a CL55 AMG anywhere. I am asking $78,000 and am willing to pay for half of your airfare/travel costs if you decide to buy the car. If you see it, you will buy it. I realize there are less expensive CL55 AMG's out there, but not too many in bone-stock mint condition with less than 10,000 miles and a full genuine Mercedes 100K mile warranty. My car also has all the desirable options which many CL's are lacking. Out-of-state buyers can arrange fully-enclosed shipping. If you are a serious buyer and want to buy a new CL55 AMG at a used car price, feel free to contact me by phone. My number is 949-510-5917. I am going to compile pictures on a CD for those that are interested-Gary

Sounds like a sweet CL. As a heads up...even with the low miles, you will have a challenge getting near that asking price. My CL600 went in the low 60's (dealer offered 50 ) and it was pristine...and that was after months of trying to sell.

I do wish I still had it!

Best of luck!

I saw Gary's '03 CL55 a couple months ago at our CL gathering in OC. The car is as Gary describes. It is beautiful, with all available options. Good luck!
Gary, I returned your e-mail, but got a spam protection notice. I hope you got it. Regards,

03CL55AMG,

That's an excellent price, but I am curious you mentioned in previous threads i.e. https://mbworld.org/forums/cl55-amg-cl65-amg-cl63-amg-c215-c216/160538-selling-my-2003-cl55-need-money-fast-pricing.html you bought this car with 4900 miles for $76,000. And after driving additional 4000 miles, your asking price is $78,000. Have you added some after-market parts or enhancements, or upgrades, which has raised the asking price over your originally stated purchase price for the car.

djamer-I bought the car from a Benz dealer for $76K (it was on consignment from a private collector) but I wanted the car certified by Mercedes as a Certified Pre-Owned car. I paid an additional $6000 to have it certified and extend the warranty to May of 2010 for peace of mind. I have over 80K invested in the car and I'm trying to recoup some of my expenses. I also paid out for additional 3M Clear Bra coverage on the front end to keep it chip-free. I believe my price is justified for the condition, mileage, warranty and complete documentation. There are cheaper ones out there but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. I looked at many CL's before I scored mine and came across many nightmares with high mileage, scrapes, thrashed interiors, no records, missing pieces, etc. The buyer of my car will get a new car at a used car price while I will move up the foodchain with the new CL63 AMG

Nice car, but I agree, not too many people wanting to pay $75k for a car that will be old in 3 months...regardless of mileage. It will drop $15K overnight once the new one comes out.

Thanks for passing on my information. Appreciate any leads! Had a serious buyer call me today and he was from my area. Wanted the car mostly for his wife but he would drive it occasionally. I went over to their house and both liked it a lot but the wife complained that she couldn't sit in it correctly. She is barely 5 feet tall and we adjusted the seats 100 times but she felt as though the seat bottom was too long, causing the end of the seat to hit her calfs instead of hitting the back of her knee. Husband and son (who owns E55) are going to look into a lumber seat cushion to possibly bring her up closer and then the seat would feel right for her. Can't believe it They obviously can afford the car but now it is a "height" issue...thanks again for your reply.l

The SLK sounds like an even better choice. The CL is a very masculine car.

small woman love to drive big trucks, and i always see these tiny ladies getting out of an Sclass, 7 series, or the A8, and i watch them as they drive if they get any closer they should just sit on the steering wheel it pisses me off for some reason lol

It's even uglier than this now! Sad, but true - 05's are selling for less than this:

http://luxurymotors.com/inventory.php

Wholesale on this car: approx. low - mid 50s

Retail: Hi 50s - mid 60s tops!

And this is before the final slaughter takes place when the brand new badass CL dominates the landscape!

Here's a mind-blower. A 2001 CL600 retailing for $32K which means you could probably get it for $29-30K which means the dealer probably paid $26-27K for it:

http://luxurymotors.com/inventory_de...DES-BENZ+CL600

Makes me feel all that much better that I got rid of mine for $55k just this summer!

I think Mercedes pricing is just out of control. It is amazing that there are so many people willing to buy a new Benz for $140k that three years later is worth less than half of that price. It is like throwing money right down the crapper! I've always bought 2-3 yr old Benz's in the mid 60's, and after selling I would lose about 5 grand, but that is to be expected.

I would love to get into another CL someday, but the reliability of the CL500, CL600, and S55's I had was not good. I got to know my S.A. all too well over pretty much the same issues in each car. Hopefully MB has fixed these (damn ABC light) for the next generation. It would be nice to see a mx program like BMW has as well...

Ok...stepping off soapbox now....

ex 03 W215 now 08 e92 M3
red00lght is right on with it.

I've seen this vehicle for sale in person...it is in mint condition.

"...once the new CL is out..."

"...resale values on this car are falling like boulders..."

NO ****???!!!...

You guys are genious.

My man puts his car up for sale and without fail the heads start in with the HUGE INSIGHT and tearing in with what number he should be putting on the sticker. Let him sell how and to who he wants.

03CL55AMG is right to hold out for that special buyer-and there actually are some out there.

It's human to do the easy thing and pile on about the depreciation as many have. It is similar to those folks who love to be the bearer of bad news as it props them up in their own mind as having something important to say.

Same people who are the first ones to tell you again when you've already heard someone died. "Did you hear???...yeah, Bob DIED."

EVERYBODY ALREADY KNOWS THEY ARE DEPRECIATING MONSTERS- most did NOT buy it as an investment-rather to ENJOY.

All of this does not mean that 03CL55AMG has to just dump it.

It's a beautiful ride.

2003 CL55 AMG
OC Kid-Thanks for coming to my rescue. I am fully aware of the market situation and know that the CL's drop in value. The CL500's drop more than the CL55 AMG's. I am not desperate to sell it and I certainly will not give it away. It is not a daily driver but a mint condition "garage queen" that gets driven a few days a week. A person who wants to spend 50K will get what they pay for-higher mileage car, (usually a lease return) no Mercedes warranty, etc. A 2003 or newer CL55 AMG with less than 10K miles is hard to find, especially with a genuine (no aftermarket) Mercedes Warranty for 100K miles for peace of mind. I recently saw a 2004 CL55 AMG at Mercedes Benz of Laguna Niguel with 15,000 miles on it, white with grey interior without keyless go and missing other options. Dealer had a price tag on it for 94K!!!
They sold the car for 82K!!!!!! There are people out there that are willing to pay out for flawless cars, especially in Southern Cal. I am willing to listen to any offers and certainly will not sweat over this. I have three other cars that I also enjoy driving. I'll keep you posted 03CL55AMG
