Pics of Charcoal with Chestnut trim?
Did a number of different forum searches beforehand and no luck on that end; hence, this post.
Thanks again.

Agreed; in the pics the wood looks a bit too light to go with Charcoal. It's a full shade darker in person, without any of that yellow hue from the pics, and creates a contrast that I prefer. The other wood is a bit too dark and there's not enough contrast with the Charcoal, which, then again, is part of its appeal to many people.

My favorite is Oyster with Light wood, but not going with that again -- simply want a change.

I am leaning in the same direction on the interior of my CL55. I now have Java/Chestnut with an Alabaster White exterior, but am seriously considering Brilliant Silver with Charcoal/chestnut interior. This despite the fact that I grew a bit tired of my Brilliant Silver CLK after a year, as there are so many Brilliant Silver MB's on the road. BTW, has anyone got information about the new Cubanite Silver? I would like to see a sample of the 55 Aluminum trim with Charcoal though before making a decision. Java, or now Stone, is quite difficult to keep looking clean, especially the mats. Also, still not sure what the AMG seating surfaces will be like because I read somewhere that they may have deviating stiching and/or Nubuck panels such that the 55's will differ from those on CL 500's, 600's or the Sport versions thereof. I should think that the brochures for the new CL's will be out soon. I've had an SL brochure since last March and expect it to be built in Dec. (wife's car).
If mats are your only big concern about going with Java, just get some black mats. Recently did that on a couple of light interiors; turned out great. Customized mats (black with java piping, for example, for a couple hundred bucks front and rear, which is tiny as a % of the rest of the car's cost).
Silver can get a bit tiresome, but it almost always looks good. Depends on how long you keep a car. If just a few months or if other cars in the garage, less of an issue in terms of it getting stale.
Don't know about the AMG seats on the CL. Only know they are ventilated sport seats.
By the way, my CL55 order is officially placed in the MB ordering system-- no changes longer allowed -- for the Silver over Charcoal with light wood, and, while the car isn't made yet, am very glad with the decision.
Cubanite Silver is not a US exterior option, nor is the blue interior. Do not know what cubanite looks like nor the blue; just know that they're not US-spec options. Saw Pewter in person in the sunlight and in shadow -- too brownish of a tint to it under both conditions.

Thank you for your reply and the pic of the aluminum trim. It does look bland. I expect my CL55 in next year's first quarter and have not yet spec'd the car. Black or charcoal mats with Java or Stone piping is an excellent idea. I did not know that they were available through MB. My best source of info on MB's is usually the forums, not the dealer, although my dealer has been a good to deal with and generally accomodates my requests.
As for the wheels on the Silver CL pic above, those are now the standard CL55 wheels, I believe, though not sure. The optional wheels are 15-spoke wheels -- that I do know -- which are virtually the same in design to the 19-spoke wheel seen in the pic below. I do recall the 19 spokers looking much better than the 15's -- they seem to fill the wheelwells better and work better with the CL shape, even though all are 18-inchers. Go to your MB dealer, which should have an MB wheel guide, and you'll see the 15-spokers.
